Haven't seen Six Feet Under, contrex. But Tony Soprano. Definitely someone to consider. Complex. Evil. Violent. And I sometimes found myself rooting for him. How did that happen?

Six Feet Under is one of the best shows ever to appear on any media. Great character study with a twisted sense of humor. Most complicated characters on television.

Oops, guess I better get cracking with this box set of 6' Under.....

Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect. One of the best shows; one of the best characters; one of the best actresses (Helen Mirren). It doesn't get much better than this.

JPB, now that I'm teaching high school, I refer to Eddie "That's-a-lovely-dress-you're-wearing-Mrs.-Cleaver" Haskell all the time. Laughing

Ooh, ooh. Just remembered Toody and Muldoon from Car 54 Where Are You. Toody was a character. Muldoon later become Herman Munster.

@Roberta,
Get Smart - Maxwell Smart (Don Adams), Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon) - I only got to see this on Nick at Night (reruns of old shows) But I loved it.

Moonlighting - Maddie Hayes (Cybil Shepherd) , David Addison Jr. (Bruce Willis) - hilarious. quirky. SO entertaining.

I love Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) from the Mentalist

I am sure there are more...

@Roberta,
Oh yeah.

Laura Linney in "Tales Of the City," too.

And Kristin Scott Thomas was in something from that series... a nun? That was amazing. (This was a while ago.)

Ah, found it:

("That series" = Masterpiece Theater on PBS)
