I am looking to have a tattoo done of "God is Gracious" I have found one translation but am unsure if it is correct, can anyone help?
"deus est propitius!

I think benignus is better than propitius. And place the verb last, thus:

Deus benignus est.

But let someone wiser than I am (e.g. George) double -check that.

hi thanks for that...... would this be an exact translation or is that going to be impossible. Basically "god is gracious" is the meaning of my name, hence wanting to convert it to a tattoo so I really want an eaxct trtanslation.

Gracious is not an easy word to translate exactly. My dictionary gives no less than five possible English translations. But I believe that benignus -- 'kimd-hearted, affable, bounteous' -- comes closer to your meaning than propitius, 'well-disposed, favorably inclined.'
