@hawkeye10,
So it says that things change, and people have trouble adapting. So what?

if true that there is not equality between the genders, and that one gender has lost its way and is trying to find it, we are not looking at people having trouble adapting to change. This is not about stragglers who are behind the herd, this is about a herd that is no longer functioning well.

@hawkeye10,
Trust me, women are having a hard time, too.

Women catch grief for devoting themselves to their careers, or for being stay-at-home moms, or for putting their kids in daycare, or any number of issues.

Except in the world of abstract ideas, NOTHING is equal to anything else.
Even identical twins r not equal to one another.

Is that an exhortation to end any constructive criticism of women?

I agree, but in my view one of the major problems women have is that there are no where near enough good men to go around. Strong women need strong men, and vis-versa. While at first blush following the feminists advise in beating down men/walking over them/turning them into sensitive caring emotive men is exhilarating the novelty soon wears off, and the women then find that they are surrounded by crappy good for nothing men....men who have made the mistake of becoming what women have claimed that they want. Being the perpetual mommy to grown men who never learned how to act like men gets old....ask Courteney Cox for further illustration.

@hawkeye10,
Clearly this is a matter of personal opinion but I don't think:

Is an accurate description of feminism.

To me feminism was about the life choices open to a person who happened to be born without a Y chromosome, and wanting them to be no less than those open to someone who did have a Y chromosome.

Reminds of the aphorism: "The problem with equality is we only want it with our superiors"

IMO, rarely is such criticism constructive, whether directed at men or women.

There is no single life path that is correct for everyone.

I have encouraged n exhorted more than 1 girlfriend not to drive their cars while drunk;
(in 1 case, with her 4 year old child seated next to her).

Maybe that is not correct for everyone.

@OmSigDAVID,
Er... not driving drunk is hardly a "life path."

The HELL its not; thay wanted to drive along a path
and that had a significant bearing upon their lives.
One of them DID it, against my advice.

Another one (who was a tenant of mine) aborted
when I did my imitation of Gov. George Wallace n blocked the doorway.
(I had no right to do that; I shud be ashamed.)
