I just woke up. Maybe this thread idea is a bad one - real bad. But, maybe it will be good. Certainly, it could be a good research tool.
We all read about a person saying or doing something and think, "Argh! What an idiot!" I am not talking about diots who dump their celebrity girlfriends, or mega-breeders having yet another child. I'm thinking of Pastor Jones burning the Qu'ran or John Edwards having an affair while running for VP.
I want to hear from both sides (democrat vs republican, atheist, vs. theist, etc), but I don't want long arguments. I'd like this to stick to a format something like the "person above you" game threads.
1. Comment on the post JUST before your post only. Keep it short - 1 to 3 sentences.
2. Mention your nomination for the stupidity thread. Keep this short, too. Sum up the person and event in, let's say, less than 5 sentences. No cutting and pasting articles, though links to articles should be used.

A friend and I used to discuss - and argue about - nutrition. He belittled my efforts and I told him taking echinacea was not going to help much, which he was taking daily, for the immune system, when he ignored practically any other rules of nutrition. Then, he began living on bologna. For months at a time, that and nothing else. One day, he dropped dead. The doc said he had cancer in the liver and heart disease.
