Kick and scream against the tangle of red-tape that has become our political reality.

If I could...
1. Legalize all drugs similar to alcohol laws.
2. Implement a Flat Tax of some form (no loopholes, everyone pays the same percentage)
3. Bills in Congress can only have one item in them, no adding extra crap to try to get it through. Congress either votes for them or not.
4. Find some way to prevent Congress people from becoming beholden to single large contributors (Some form of campaign finance reform.)
5. Fix the educational system and extend college level instruction into the system so that it was no longer necessary to get "higher education" just to be reasonably productive.
6. Provide economic incentives to move us to renewable energy resources.

A lot of headaches for people entrenched in the old system.

Capitalism with a dash of government control and oversight to prevent global instabilities.

Food stamps and free education.

Equal opportunity for everyone, rich or poor. If the rich can get richer, that's fine just so long as they pay their fair share in taxes.

Sure, what the hell. I'm the president, might as well kick some ass.

By the way, I'm not religious, so you don't ever have to worry about me being elected. It's not gonna happen Wink

@HexHammer,
The US president is mostly a figure-head. It's a bully pulpit.

I would do as Obama did regarding healthcare: try to bring attention to the looming financial problem with Medicare.

I'd also push for a reintroduction of the inner city business creation scheme where the government sponsored small businesses and then turned them over to the workers. I thought that was a great idea and was sad when it was abandoned by Clinton.

I'd look for ways to reinforce the power of the US Forest Service to manage national forests and require that all wood on the market be certified for proper harvesting.

I'd have somebody look into ways to sell the services of the US Military to the rest of the world.
