What is the latin translation for the following:
If God wants to destroy people ,he makes them mad.

this is a very old proverb.

In the play Medea by the Greek playwright Euripides, there is a line in which he writes: "Whom the Gods would destroy, they first make mad." (Mad as in the sense of being insane.) In latin, that is: Quem deus vult perdere, dementat prius. That Latin tag is actually in the singular, i.e., "Whom God would destroy, he first makes mad." You could use that if you want.
