I know that he has no intention of running as an independent. But were he to, would you back him.
I think he's easily one of the most principled, knowledgable politicians out there. He vehemently opposes pork barrel economics and seems to want more than anything, a lower defecit and a balanced budget.
I too believe that this is the only approach that'll prevent a collapse of the United States economy in the next few decades.
My question is, would you back him. If so why, what do you like about him? If not, why not?
I like his frozen pizzas. Sorry, I'm not American, but wanted to put this back on the boards for the others to see again.
For all the interest in McCain by Democrats, McCain remains a Republican. Nothing will change that in my own mind and I would not vote for him.
If one truly wants a lower deficit and a balanced budget -- he/she should be lobbying for a constitutional amendment allowing Bill Clinton another run at the presidency.
He was the only president recently who managed that move.
Mc Cain talks a good talk. I doubt he could produce.
A Staunch Capitalist
Uh...vote for him? Nope.
As person, it seems that he is brave one and principled.

Whoa--Frank--did you write that "tongue in cheek" or if you think it is true----what did Clinton do specifically to bring about this miracle? I'm talking specifics now such as programs that he personally pushed through congress that resulted in the economic miracle you speak of.
