David, you've reminded me of another famous parental saying:

"Just wait 'til you have kids of your own!"

It would be very interesting to see that exercise assigned to a group of college kids then assigned to them again 20 years later. I'll bet their shrieks and moans would be gone.

One of the hallmarks of early adulthood is believing you had a crappy childhood.

Yes, that 's probably true,
but I gotta say: I really LOVED my freedom; then and now.

I started to reply to SonofEva last night by saying, "Yeah well, when you get your own house you can make your own rules, but as long as you're living here..."

I just barely stopped myself in time.
