I love who I am and what I look like but at times I find myself scared to take off my clothes and put on a swim suit. My grandmother use to tell us kids that it was fine to show a little skin at times because if you got a great body you need to show it and its a beautiful thing. Why am I so scared to wear a swim suit?!? Should I be
@scaredtodie94,
Post a picture of yourself in a swimsuit and the posts will be coming in with comments.
@talk72000,
talk, this is a 16-yr-old here. Whoa.
@scaredtodie94,
You would look a lot stranger if you were naked or in your very best dress. Settle on your bathing suit.

@jespah,
Some 16-year-old are very well developed. Anyway the comments should help her decide or maybe even wear the Muslim type swimwear. Even the turn-of-the -century style type i.e. 1900 or 1920's.
Stranger in your best dress?
@ossobuco,
Have you never jumped in the swimming pool dressed in a wedding dress?

Well, scared, you should use judgement re choice of suit, in my opinion, to fit what you feel. Be happy with your body, but don't just pick your first suit as near naked if you are not used to that. Pick one that looks good on you. Enjoy the experience. And then don't worry about it.
Also, do you swim? That can matter, re choice of suit, and also for the fun of knowing how to swim and swim well. (I didn't know how to swim well until I was older, but it is fun).
@scaredtodie94,
Yah I wont post a picture up..and even in a 2 piece I still feel awkward...Its like Im runnin around naked

@scaredtodie94,
Did you never wear a swim suit as a child? Is this an all new experience?
@ossobuco,
Yah I wore one....thats why Im so confused
I am a borderline nudist, so I am probably not the best one giving advice.
@scaredtodie94,
Once you have a boy friend your troubles will be solved.
If you feel uncomfortable, then don't do it. It's that simple. Really. You never owe anyone an explanation.
(Took me 'til I was 25 to figure that out.)
