Sentence : "Please accept my sincere apologies for not able to reply to you sooner."

My question : Is there any need of verb "being" before the word able? Will the sentence be correct without it? Please answer these two questions. Smile

Regards and thanks Smile

@Razer,
You need 'being'. Someone else will have to tell you why.

You are apologising for not being able to do something. You need the gerund "being" because you have to have a verb. You cannot say "I not able to help you".
