My light reverts to simple two way operation when i put in a 3-way bulb. (I know it is 3 way because I had a 50 watt bulb in and turning the switch resulted in the 3-way series of operation where the low and the high did not turn on the bultb

@Bziel,
This has got to be one of the most anticlimactic threads given the titles's possibilities I have read in a while.

@Bziel,
Maybe some of the elements in your three way bulb are burned out.

@Wilso,
A bulb that emits 3 different levels of light, i.e. 40, 60 and 120 watts.

@tsarstepan,
Caught me by surprise too Wink

I had three way bulbs, got rid of them, we now use LED bulbs with a dimmer switch. LED bulbs last for years and cost pennies comparied to any other light bulb.

Must be a 'merican thang.

Funny, I never used one after leaving home.

low when watching TV
medium for regular

@chai2,
Do you know I read LED bulbs can last up to twenty years! And they really do cost pennies on your electricity bill compared to other bulbs, but where they get you is the cost of the bulbs. We bought 30 of them and they cost $39.95 EACH!

Probably take a few years before we get our monies worth out of them.
