I have recently become aware that not all punishments for children are universalI have made a nice little list of ethnic punishments, help me finish it please.

Traditional Judaism: a swift chop on the back that knocks all of the wind out of you

Christianity: the infamous spank

Extremist Muslim: stoning

Hippie: a night in a fraternity

Rock Star: dangle off of the balconyjust kidding

Teacher: long lecture about manners and behavior

Artist: long lecture about the meaning of life

Clueless Parent: long lecture about the birds and the bees

Hey, individual. Welcome to A2k. Very clever thread, but not all teachers give long lectures about manners and behavior. Smile

and as for the infamous "spank", I occasionally got switched. Very little corporal punishment in my family and I carried the tradition over into mine.

I've never heard of nor seen the swift chop thing, but then my family wasn't big on corporeal punishment, neither.

Hey, Soz. Transmission of the culture is one of the latent functions of schools; that and keeping kids out of the job market.
