Will you be voting for Basil Marceaux in your primary for governor?

Stephen Colbert mentions this political giant:

@tsarstepan,
The campaign site is a little over the top but still funny.

@parados,
I wonder if the site is really an earnest attempt at getting his message across but lacking much because even his own web 1.0 web design skills or whomever webmaster he commissioned for the site are particularly subpar.

Is this guy really Tennessee's version of Alvin Greene?

Not to rain on the parade, but it's a goof, tsar. He's not real. Which certainly is not an argument for not writing his name in in place of any of the REAL Republican candidates. Better an inaginary one than any of them.

@MontereyJack,
It's not really a goof MJ since he has run in the past.

2006 story listing him as candidate

frivilous lawsuit filed by Basil Marceaux and tossed by appeals court

Basil during the 2002 Senate campaign. Watch the reporter reaction at the end.

about a week ago opie and anthony first played the newsclip with this dude (my post about him http://able2know.org/topic/159296-1) then the same day they talked to him on the phone
their interview (warning it's satellite radio, so there is cursing)

yesterday they played a campaign ad, and in researching him further it looks like some folks might be using him for a documentary they're producing, not saying he's not running legitimately, as has been pointed out he's run before, but it looks like some folks with an ulterior motive might be egging him on
