@validity,
Depends on who's defining "temple." I think most people have some idea what a temple looks like if they saw a picture of it - as a place of worship.

@validity,
Hi validity!

No, I'm not saying that - the thread has been explained.
The pyramid of Giza will always be the pyramid of Giza.

It's like saying, "When are the Himalayas not the Himalayas?" The answer is the same - Never. Once they are labelled differently, they cease to be the Himalayas, but at no time whilst they are the 'Himalayas' are they not the 'Himalayas'.

Something MUST be what it is. And cannot be what it isn't.

Hope this makes it clearer for you?

Kind regards!

That word "must" has been causing great confusion on some other threads recently. For example, see page 13 of "The necessary truth of any truth".

@ACB,
Hi ACB!

I shall when time permits, but I can well imagine - It creates a certainty, flying under the premise of no room for manouvre. 'Has To'. I think in this instance it is appropriate though.

For us to be able to name things - they must (tentatively) incorporate the properties of the identity we apply.

If I dropped a stone - I must have dropped a stone.

Thank you though! I'll investigate.

It was named the Great Pyramid because it is has a pyramid shape. If I were to rearrange the stones that make the Great Pyramid of Giza into a cube, you may still call it the Great Pyramid of Giza, but it will no longer be a pyramid.

Is it then more correct to say this (modified) structure was once the Great Pyramid of Giza or that it is still the Great Pyramid of Giza

@validity,
Hi Validity!

Whatever it is - it is. Whatever it isn't - it isn't.

After pooing out what was once a nice steak that was once a cow, it is no longer a cow or a steak. It is excrement. So calling it a cow or steak is wrong.

If you have a heap of rocks that were once a pyramid you have a heap of rocks that were once a pyramid. so calling it a pyramid is wrong, for it is a heap of rocks now.

When is a living thing not a living thing? Never. The properties of a living thing require that it is alive. If it is not alive, it is dead and cannot be a living thing that is not a living thing. It is now a dead thing.

Hope this helps?

Geometrically, when it ceases to have the necessary conditions that make up a pyramid.

A pyramid is not a pyramid when it is the idea of a pyramid, which goes, naturally, by the same name..

BALONEY, because THAT is not a pyramid and accordingly does not qualify to be considered a pyramid.

Really??? Because if I look up pyramid in the dictionary I don't get a pyramid, but the idea of a pyramid, and the idea of, and the example of, are the same just so fools like OSD are not entirely confused by life...

ajar
adj
adv
(esp of a door or window) slightly open

So, when a door is slightly open, it is ajar.
