A number of persons on this site are like that, but I will not instigate a fight by naming them.

Well I'm held up by that kind of self-restrained stuffiness! I call out an individual who is renown for such egotistical behavior!

Hey you!!

Hamster #24601! Yeah you!! The district hamster-manager of the North American PM based server!! You know who I'm talking about!

The worst hamster behind the scenes of a2k is Hamster #24601. And yes I do remember her name. I just refuse to openly show her any respect because of the infamous China Syndrome Incident she caused on the Abuzz server back in 2000.

I think that applies to people who put others on Ignore because they can't answer the posts they write or when they simply don't respond at all to a post and carry on as if it hadn't been posted. It happens to me a lot on the evolution threads. Another method is just to assert that the post to be bullshit.

@spendius,
If you didn't post such utter bullshit, people might be polite to you.

@Joe Nation,
I'm related to a few of the 'never-wrongs'. All I do, as they twist in the wind trying to prove it, is tell them, over and over again, that being wrong does not make them a bad person. My stepson in particular seems to feel that being wrong about something, whether it's a silly trivia question or the state capital of Oregon, is a personality flaw of some kind. The constant pressure these people put on themselves is sometimes very sad. When they're proven wrong you can see their devastation. My aunt actually gets pissed, like you've insulted her. Crazy.

@eoe,
I wonder if it is familial. I come from a mixed family, mother always right (pretty much on a religious basis) and my father seeing several sides to issues. No wonder I'm confused.

Oh, and I'm often wrong. But then I'll be newly right as I'll have changed views (only half kidding).

@eoe,
eoe, You bring up a very interesting point about people who worry about trivia. Some worry themselves sick, and some die from high blood pressure about things that are not important in this world's scheme of things.

I think we all are guilty of "being wrong," and worry about inconsequential things.

I have met a good number of people whos perception of reality and memory of events clearly twists to be what they need it to be to support what they already believe....presumably because they cant be wrong.

@cicerone imposter,
If you want to be wrong, play Pogo Daily Trivial Puruit. Some of the questions are on a par with, 'what color of sox did Babe Ruth wear the day he hit his fortieth homer?'

@dyslexia,
Oh, I am wrong all right.

Admitting it...that's harder.

Well, with some people it's hard...with others it's easy.

It's not a gene thing as much as a learned thing in families, I'd think.

@Eva,
It's sometimes hard to categorize. I've remembered a person's pov a year or more later and agreed.

So, to me, the deal is to pay attention.
