Is the Private Message service working? I'm having a problem

for some, the PM's have been disabled, but it shouldn't affect you, unless you're trying to send to a disabled account (i think all the disabled accounts are former Philo forum and any new accounts due to spam)

One person I was trying to reach acknowledge that she saw my question about my message to her latest topic post that she had not received it. I sent another private message again two days ago, but she has not received it. We've communicated for years so I can't discover what is wrong with the function.

use the contact us at the bottom of the page, you might have got caught up accidentally in the blockage, that's all i can think of

Maybe it is the other person not being able to receive it, not you being able to send it. Maybe you could try with someone who you know can receive them.

It seems that PM's between you and I work just fine.

I dont know who else may be involved, but I know she tried to send one to me and the last message I have gotten from BBB is dated 'Fri 9 May, 2008 03:02 am " !!!

BBB, can you use the contact us form? I haven't been online for a while and don't feel like reading all that a2k has posted since then. If you send a message to the help desk the outstanding issues we have to respond to are tracked and it makes it a lot easier.

In any case, your PMs should work fine, I suspect a user error or a very long PM and some bad validation on our end (e.g. maybe it doesn't send because it is too long but doesn't display a helpful message about that).

But I don't have much more to go on, if you contact us at the help desk I can try to investigate further when I have some more time.
