Has anyone else noticed that something is missing?

@shewolfnm,
Well, that you have been graced with such a bountiful portion of advertisements can only mean one of two things: either you are a woman of outstanding refinement and class, or you have a raging case of spyware.

I recommend AdAware to get started with that spyware problem.

Two can wax folkloric and I think this is a case of the sour grapes after being deprived of the magnificent advertisements that the cultural elite on a2k enjoy. Maybe if you used a proxy the ad servers won't recognize you and you can sneak past them till they wise on to you.

Speaking of folklore:

@Robert Gentel,
Yes, me too. I suffer from not only spyware loss, easy enough, but ad loss. This is viscerally regurgitative.

Do you have a remedy?

@ossobuco,
I don't know osso, I really don't. I'm not always privy to their selection criteria. But I can tell you that one thing that a user (I won't mention any names so that Chai doesn't feel bad) reported was that the ad return coincided with when she stopped putting out so much. Seems they want an audience of good repute so when the neighborhood was circling the bases around the clock, and when she was considering renaming herself to "the Grand Slam", the ads were nowhere to be seen. As soon as she gained some control of her wanderlust they were back and remained except for a brief episode that we both believe is likely ascribable to her having being seen wearing a corduroy sweatsuit to the store.

@dlowan,
It's sad, this denial. You'll never see the ads this way. Recognizing that you have a problem is the first step.

As for your continued implication that I speak less-than-perfect sooth, if I can't make you reconsider and regret your impertinence I can at least make you rue your chosen manner of assaulting my character. To that aim I present exhibit A, the world's worst tattoo (a man rumored to forever be banned from being graced by advertisements):

Well, sure, that would explain it. Plus, you know, her funny shoes, the very special shoes. Chai's, I mean.

Ha! That's nothing. I have seen worse.

Your cause (given the Emperor's New Clothes reality) is so not helped by showing naked men.

At least the Emperor was not given to going commando, as is your tragic wont, at least currently, or so I horridly gather.

See?

(Although, I DO note there seems to be some disagreement in the chronicles about the commando thing:)

Erm...if chastity is necessary for the seeing of the imaginary ads, and you can see them, may I extend my condolences to Mr Happy? I'm sorry Mr H honey, but it all goes downhill after the owner reaches thirty. I know you're doing the best you can.

Eva, it is the just reward to folk of our lofty ilk but at the same time i feel i would be failing in my duty as a friend not to mention that commenting at the abundance you were bestowed with right after their protestations at the paucity of their own ad experience might be described as gaudy. The ad gods may see fit to revoke your access to the advertisements if you generate ad envy amongst the unwashed masses.

Ooh, you're right. That was a little insensitive. I do hope everyone will forgive me. And thank you, RG, for being a true friend by pointing out my poor timing. You are obviously more gifted at subtlety, diplomacy and insight than anyone else here. I'm sure this has not gone unnoticed by the ad gods, who must be rewarding you with an endless barrage of advertisements. I wonder how you can get any work done at all! If I may offer a helpful suggestion, perhaps you could dial it back a bit to reduce the number of ads that must intrude on your valuable time.

That is terrible, Intrepid! Is that the sort of ads you are receiving? Mine are mostly for loose gemstones and epicurian delights. Perhaps the ad gods know more about your tastes than you are admitting...?

@Eva,
Ah, but the tastes were not mine. They are caused by those who flout/flaunt questionable pics on this thread.

My true tastes run more along the lines of your own.
