Buying property is the decision of a lifetime.
A lot of care is needed from the beginning, right from site visits to the registration of the flat. The aspects of checking for the available amenities like schools, colleges, transport facilities, markets, hospitals etc. equally play an important role in buying a property.
So what according to you are the most basic amenities that you look for while buying a property?

@versatile,
I'm 81 age and disabled, so I look for things that will allow me to function. For example:

reasonable house price, fixed income ;

one story house - no stairs;

three bedrooms, two for sleeping and one for office;

walk in shower with safety bars - unable to use a bath tub;

disabled height toilet;

easy access to car garage;

small and safe yards for walking and for my two doggies, etc;

walk-in closet;

then I look for:

good windows with thermal protection;

good roof;

good air conditioning equipment;

kitchen with good equipment and easy use design;

safe floor coverings and non-slip tyle;

doggie door for my two dogs;

low crime area;

good neighborhood;

easy shopping near by;

competent police and fire agencies;

good hospital and clinic nearby;

good handy man and landscape care;

good dog vet nearby;

Hi,
As specified in the question i would like to know about the most basic Facilities that you would like to have or consider while buying a flat.
Of-course the internal basic requirements should be considered but what about the benefit that you would like to have the moment you step out of the house like a school for your kid, A playground, A hospital, Station etc

If you are buying a condo be sure to check out your neighbors-to-be, before your final decision.

Next, check out the stability of the ownership. How long have owners lived on the property.

Buy a condo, where renting is never allowed.

Buy a condo that's pet friendly.

Check out the reputation of the managment company.

Stability of condo property.

Kitchen...very important!

Water source, purity,etc.

Transportation ( rail, etc )

Tax rates ...good or bad.

Schools, colleges, students (!), libraries.

@versatile,
I would look at the locality and then the basic amenities of the property i am purchasing. Title search is also important.
