It never ceases to amaze me how fickle American people can be. We love to put people up high just so we can bring them down! what's the point?:thumbdown:

It's what happens when, in the process of building a world-wide empire, you throw people that have nothing in common in with each other. We have religious extremists and passive atheists (and vice versa), socialists and capitalists, fascists and communists, 1,000s of different ethnic groups, ect. all making up a single country. It's impossible to get anything done and to get everyone to agree.

@David cv,
America is not allowed to have it's own culture! We spend all of our time trying to prove our cultural tolerance and in the process we've lost all identity we might have had. But it doesn't explain why we would vote for a president on a platform that we seem to hate(all of a sudden). And how can we vote for a president that we fear might talk to our children? What do "we" think he's capable of? I think Carter might be on to something!

@pastor Pete,
I don't believe the political process works any longer. I don't believe Obama or Bush won an election. I believe the fix was in from the beginning and those who control this country are the ones who decided whom to make as figure heads for it.

The U.S. is a multicultural/diverse country, not because the people want it but because those who seek to destroy the one culture/one people concept, (that seems to be working well in China and a few other places), have an agenda that will put them in total and complete charge of all people in the U.S.

Surely the point is that - as in all countries - the rich believe they have a divine right to rule, and do own the media. Elections, therefore, should simply choose those they choose, and if they don't, the choice is illegitimate and to be overthrown. The only thing that's weird about the US is that they attack even quite normal, unthreatening pro-capitalist politicians. Looks to me as if your lot are paranoid!

@kynaston,
If all one wants to do is throw up their hands and surrender, why engage in the conversation? I don't believe the system is anywhere near perfect but I do still have a certain amount of faith in it. We are no longer a country mainly populated by ignorant farmers and such, accepting the governments behavior because they had no other choice(or had no idea how to voice their disapproval). We are far more educated(savvy) today. There is power in numbers, whether those numbers are dollars or people. Millionairs are going to prison, their assets divided and sold, because enough people demanded action! One of the biggest problems we face is our laziness toward learning the truth(and speaking it). Americans allow themselves to be spoon fed what the Feds, special interest groups and spin docters are serving! And the point is always burried in rhetoric, philosophy or just plain bullcrap. We need to learn to see past all the posturing and address the real issues. Who cares where the Obamas ate last night (and who they offended by ordering or not ordering fish instead of steak)? Focus People!!!!!!!!:peace:

Well, I don't live there, and the last thing I'd want is for people to surrender. It is important to see what is actually happening, however. People are not inconsistent - they are just being brainwashed by interested parties, and it needs to be said again and again.

@kynaston,
I'm starting to wonder why I bothered signing up to this. Does anyone say anything substantial? Is this just a place for people to wax poetic about their feelings and opinions? It is clear we are all unsatified with the way things are, but does anyone out there have any ideas how to get this train on the right track? I'd like to discuss that sort of thing rather than wallowing in our discomfort.:ban:
