How I lost $275 on the Presidential Election

I just thought I would share my story with the forum about how I lost $275 dollars on this election.

It all started last November while talking with some friends, Liberal and Conservative alike about how the election in 2008 might turn out.

Well things being as they are and me thinking I am smarter than the average pundit, I decided to put my money where my mouth is. So I made a few bets; $100 here, another $100 there and a $50 and $25 over yonder.

My bet was this; this country is not ready to put ONE party in charge of everything so soon after the negative perceptions the public has over how Republicans have run the show. Therefore, regardless of who the candidates will be, there will NOT be a Democrat in the White House as Congress already has strong control of the House and control over the Senate.

Mind you, at this time we were thinking it would be possibly Hillary for the Democrats and someone like Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney on the Republican side.

But in my wisdom I said, "It doesn't matter! The American people are NOT about to risk ONE party rule anytime soon. They are just too smart and cynical, like me, of Government and it is too soon after the present administrations tribulations.?

Well, Americans proved me wrong. Thank you! They ignored substance for charisma, they ignored experience for an idea of change and they proved once again that most voters merely vote for an idea and rarely comprehend the policy implications of platform rhetoric.

Back to the drawing board; time to develop a plan for how the Conservative platform can once again attract a majority to help us prevent the Liberal Socialism I am sure will ruin this country if not stopped. I guess every ten years the American people need a reminder of why the Carter years were such a BAD idea.

These are JUST my opinions; have at it! :peace:

We live, and we learn; that is of course unless you are a Democrat, then you keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again! :rollinglaugh:

Your partisanship deludes your sense of reality.

Republicans are just as guilty of this as democrats
