@DiversityDriven,

Anti-discrimination laws will annihilate the last bit of that. Also, Bam's campaign already said that the hire-fire line was incorrect and the Associated Press has changed their report because of this inaccuracy.

And guess what Sanchez! The last line there starting with 'in a move sure to cause controversy' is lifted DIRECTLY from the AP's inaccurate report.

From Bam:

"The new partnership will not endanger the separation of church and state, so long as a few basic principles are followed. First, if an organization gets a federal grant, it will not be permitted to use that grant money to proselytize to the people it serves, and the group will forbidden to discriminate against them on the basis of their religion. "

Quote:
Obama was unveiling his approach to getting religious charities more involved in government anti-poverty programs during a tour and remarks Tuesday at Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio. The arm of Central Presbyterian Church operates a food bank, provides clothes, has a youth ministry and provides other services in its impoverished community.

I have no problem with this.

Quote:
"The challenges we face today, from putting people back to work to improving our schools, from saving our planet to combating HIV/AIDS to ending genocide, are simply too big for government to solve alone," Obama was to say, according to a prepared text of his remarks obtained by The Associated Press. "We need all hands on deck."

I have no problem with this either. If religious groups want to help solve problems, more power to 'em.

Quote:
But Obama's support for letting religious charities that receive federal funding consider religion in employment decisions was likely to invite a storm of protest from those who view such faith requirements as discrimination.

Again, an inaccuracy in reporting.

I don't object to religion. What I object to, however, is the forcing of religion where it does not belong. Yeah, I'm keeping a sharp eye on Bam in this particular arena, but it seems he knows where the lines are drawn. Several others do not.

In either case, the article was inaccurate. Try again.

Your full of sheit. I doubt anyone on this forum would believe that.

If you are a person of faith, religion is with you 24/7. And how do you define "forcing"? Do you believe that in the Constitution there is something saying there is a separation of church and state?

LOL, forest through the trees right?

"seems" huh, not to sure it sounds like. I think it funny B Hussein gets a pass on religion from you but we get chastized? Have your ever blinded Hussein with your science? Hussein know you think him a fundamentalist?

I don't object to anyone believing a religion. Now, trying to use that religion as a trump card, that's when I lace my steeltoes.

Forcing is defined by making others follow your religious dogma. Your religion might be with *you* 24/7, but that does not mean it is with everybody else.

Establishment clause. Read it. The government can neither endorse or discriminate against any religion.

If you're gonna use an expression, regardless of how incorrect, at least get it right.

"I'm a Christian, and I believe in parents being able to provide children with religious instruction without interference from the state. But I also believe our schools are there to teach worldly knowledge and science. I believe in evolution, and I believe there's a difference between science and faith. That doesn't make faith any less important than science. It just means they're two different things. And I think it's a mistake to try to cloud the teaching of science with theories that frankly don't hold up to scientific inquiry." - Bam.

He's made his stance clear.
