This video explains liberty better than I could ever dream of explaining it. Eight minutes of your time is nothing, so please indulge.

@Curmudgeon,
Ok, you both need to look into the Libertarian Party.

Well the GOP doesn't support invdividual liberty. They're pro drug criminalization, pro income tax, and pro pre-emptive war. If you agree with the video, you reject these ideas.

They're 'pro-reality'. Libertarianism promotes a steady retreat into anarchy and mass suicide. It's an escapist pipe-dream. America's first duty is to spread and maintain as much influence in the world as possible. We won't be on top forever. This is our time to shine. Let's do so without any apologies or hesitation.

No, it isn't, that's your delusional version of Sharia law.

If you can compare Americanism with Sharia Law, something is seriously wrong with your reasoning.

Outstanding video. But then, I have long considered myself to be at least partly Libertarian, with a STRONG conservative bent. But, I am also a realist. For now, to vote libertarian is by and large to throw your vote away. Recent elections have been too close to make a "statement vote." Bush senior and Dole both lost elections in large part because of third party candidates who drew off significant numbers of votes, allowing Clinton to win the election twice by a pleurality rather than a majority. (As did GWB in the 2000 election.)

As a result, I am forced, until such time as the Libertarians offer a truly viable candidate, to vote for the party that most closely reflects my values. That's the Republicans.

No, I am comparing your zeal for forcing the world to think like you, to that of the muslims.

That thinking is what causes third parties to stay small. Vote conscience, not convenience.

I'm reading my copy of the Constitution, and I can't seem to find the part about an American responsibility abroad....help?

Libertarians reject anarchy, you'd know that if you had bothered to watch the video. Suicide? Why not? If somebody doesn't want their life anymore, let them give it up.
