Jeffs made only one error in my opinion. He married an girl who wasn?t willing, period.
Otherwise the guy he married her to was only 19 years old and this was his first and only marriage.
As to girl being 14, the age of consent in Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Serbia and Spain is 14.
@RedOct,
Well I am not against polygamy , what ever suits them; let them live and leave others alone is all I ask.
But with this Warren jeffs I saw his nephew on TV and the Nephew told a story about being raped by this man in his pre teens. I believed him and I am not easily fooled.
And why would he insist a 14 year old girl get married anyway?
Why not wait till she was legal by this countries laws? The bible tells us to obey the laws of the land as long as they do not go against the laws of God. God's laws do not speak about the age sex is preferable , so the law of the land says 18 . Any way you look at it this man was wrong, he broke the law and now will face the conseguences.
@RedOct,
Jeff sounds like a pedophile period.

...and a vicious, merciless, controlling one at that. I hope he finds solace in a twin cell with Bubba.
@RedOct,
Yeah...what a scumbag. In the final analysis, his colossal, over-blown theology of salvation came down to his having sex with 14-year-old girls. I work all day long with 15-year-olds, striving always to imbue them with an enduring belief in humanity. If I did so with the ulterior motive of molesting them, I would expect to be
executed.
@RedOct,
Jeff's is a case of man who let his "power" really go to his head. He must also be the classic male-chauvinist pig! Having ancestors that practiced polygamy I will address that for just a moment. It was done during a time of persecution, when many of the men were killed by mobs or died because of the hardships that they endured. This left many women and families without someone as the head of the household. At that time women did not have the rights and privileges they do now. So the practice of polygamy. Only about 5% of the faithful were allowed to practice.
When it was outlawed it was not practiced. It's against the law and so is not sanctioned or endorsed by the LDS church. Just the radical fundamentalists follow it now. Jeffs is breaking a law of the land and should be prosecuted to the full extent in my opinon.
@RedOct,
He should pay the ultimate price.

Really? I would have thought you'd be defending him "tooth and nail". Birds...

That shows how horribly wrong you can be. What have I ever said that advocates child molestation? You hold yourself to no apparent standard of decent intellectual conduct, Aaron.
@RedOct,
Pino has always shown himself to have a solid moral foundation based on Christian ethics. Of that, there can be no doubt. Anyone that would think otherwise is truly blinded by their own struggle for recognition on this site.

Really?? I'm finding that rather offensive. Shall I be reporting you on that one?
And would you be the paragon of decent intellectual conduct, Pino? I find that to be more than humorous (a euphemism, to be sure).

We only need go back and look at all the threads...and we would find your claim to be amiss. And your suggestion that I need recognition from the likes of you and your comrades, is laughable, to say the very least. I get all the recognition I need from home.

I was not speaking specifically to you or about you.
For someone that shuns recognition from the likes of "us", it's curious that you are always the first to respond.

Thanks, SoCal. I appreciate it.

If it gets your "goat", then I've accomplished what I set out to do. Many times, my posts are not directed to you...that doesn't stop you from chiming in, does it....goose, gander.

Just because he said it, don't make it true...no need to thank him.

Pino - for someone that cares not about us or our opinions, he's always the first to post. I think he secretly has a crush on us. At least, he has good taste.

Dream on...and yes, I do have "good taste", but it has absolutely nothing to do with you. Right, I would have a crush on people that demean me, at every turn?
I've been happily married and faithful to one person for the past 6 years....something I doubt, either of you could 'truthfully" say. I don't know you or want to...I hope that clears up any discrepancies.
