Report: Senate Republicans Knew About "Closeted" Larry Craig's "Weird Problem"
2007_10_06_report_senate_republican
As much as we hate to quote right-wing columnist propagandist Robert Novak you have to admit that his sources in the Administration and the Republican Party are impeccable. (After all, this is the same guy who outed Valerie Plame for Dick Cheney and George Bush.) That's why this revelation on Bloomberg Television is particularly damning. The columnist says sources have confirmed Senate Republicans "knew" Larry Craig was "in the closet" with a "weird problem" but "didn't do anything about it."
Video at Think Progress. Transcript:
I have talked to several of my sources in the Senate, and this came as a surprise to me?They knew about it. They knew that he had this problem, and it was in the closet. And it was not just a homosexual relationship. It was this weird conduct. They didn?t do anything about it.
Novak compares the Republicans silence to "the case of Congressman Mark Foley [and] their cover-up is coming back to haunt them.?
Curiouser and curiouser. No explanation from Novak on the "weird conduct" but "the closet" speaks for itself. The analogy to Mark Foley is particularly unsettling because then-Speaker Dennis Hastert and others in the House leadership knew about his predatory behavior and covered it up, If Larry Craig gets his way and demands hearings from the Ethics Committee they may become must-see-TV. Who knows how many other previous rendezvouses in the restroom at Washington DC's Union Station will be revealed?
@aaronssongs,
Again I say our government is full of "me first" people. And I wonder if any of these other politicians use this info to gain support from him for their bills...
The Tree of Liberty needs to be pruned NOW!
@aaronssongs,
What are you doing to "prune"it junior?
