D-Man, we've been here before. We're going to beat up Aaron until he blows a gasket, spams us all with a 'go to hell' email, and takes his ball home, only to return later. Either that, or he'll whine to The Management, throwing down his dog-eared race-card. I feel like a playground bully.
Wouldn't that make it the third time. Boy these tolerant openminded people are something.

Yeah....I tried to show basic respect toward gays, and all the bozos could come up with in response were childish sex-taunts. I guess they'd prefer the usual stereotyping and gay-bashing. Deleted By Admin

@aaronssongs,
It's hard to respond to an opinion that from from the subject line you immediately realize that the author is trying to take away your constitutional rights by saying, "Shut Up...".

And then goes right into whining about having entitlements taken away by the government, except for the cancelled check for taxes. But ahhh, you first have to have a paying job to pay taxes and the author probably doesn't.

The diatribe about the Iraq war was just that... diatribe.

Even ole' Katie Couric had a hard time on the news this morning because she couldn't find a bunch of soldiers that would bad mouth the war. It went something like this.. "I couldn't find soldiers that would give their honest opinions because they aren't allowed to do so by their superiors..." In plain words, they didn't say what she wanted to hear so only listen with what you think they should be saying. That's a typical left wing attribute.

Actually, there's a lot of truth to that. We had training on dealing with media It's also why when active duty soldiers speak out against the war are discredited as looneys, or anti American fringe. I heard PLENTY of negativity about being in Iraq, and not just from lower enlisted, even a Lt Col. and a couple of Maj's.

And what? We're surprised? When this administration wants a war, then hellfire, they're going to have a war, and nobody, not even the media, or disgruntled soldiers are going to get in their way. Not even an unsupportive populace, whose wishes and demands of accountability are being ignored and scoffed at.
But there are so many sick puppies out there, that love the idea of war and killing (fulfilling childhood fantasies, on a grand scale), and find the prospect of indulging warfare , albeit, vicariously, irresistible.

Unsupportive populace??? Where were you in 2001 and 2002 when everyone was clamoring for justice and most wanted Saddam's head?

It's the liberal media hype that has promoted the unpopularity of this war. It's the networks not covering the positive things that are going on behind the scenes.

@aaronssongs,
Failed in that, he didn't finish the job. Of course, he actually listened to his advisors, like Reagan did, and didn't pursue it further. If they (Bush and Reagan) had pursued their missions on their intial plans, they would have found themselves in the same catastrophe we are in now. BushCo™ didn't listen to the people that know what they are talking about, and instead listened to a bunch of idiot neocon cronies that had no idea, or care what would happen, and didn't have first idea about managing a war. Thats' what happens when you let mindless little chickenhawks play with the big boys.

Excuse me.....the 9/11 terrorists were mostly from Saudi Arabia...it was Bush and Co. that used bits and pieces of intel, mixed it up in a pot, added innuendo and fear mongering, and in his 2002 State of the Union address, pronounced that Saddam had been shopping in Niger for yellow cake uranium, and was putting together a nuke..he then pulled out the U.N. inspectors looking for WMD, and proceeded to war. Nobody had been concerned about Saddam until then...he had been contained...but Bush was determined to get even/ assert his shaky manhood/ distract from a messy domestic agenda/ name your poison....he lied , and we gave him the benefit of the doubt, based on "doctored" documentation, and Congress , erroneously, gave him the go ahead. You, obviously don't see anything wrong with that picture. Well, the majority of folk, near and far, "do"....so, let me rephrase...."Duped populace".

It's the liberal media hype that has promoted the unpopularity of this war. It's the networks not covering the positive things that are going on behind the scenes.

If there were a liberal media hype, then why was Rumsfeld allowed to conduct an inadequate number of troops, ill-equipped, with no end game insight or prepared for, without media scutiny? I was saying to myself, why is the media giving the administration "a pass"? Why are the tough questions not being asked? Why are the casualties and pictures of the war being obstructed, unlike Vietnam? It's because the media was bought out by this administration, and refrained from broadcasting negative imagery and news...yellow journalism, if you will.
Otherwise calls for the end of the war would have occurred much sooner, and everybody knows that. If it were any liberal media hype, Colin Powell wouldn't be hanging his head in shame ( where is he?), and being down low...he would be able proudly proclaim that he had reservations concerning the war...but he, the media, the Republicans, the conservative movement, the Religious Right were all complicit in this unholy war....and now that the truth has come out, people are mad...their loved ones have died for unjust causes...and when you feel that your sacrifice has been in vain, nothing or no one can convince you otherwise. It's over, and if it ain't over, it soon will be. Bank that.

Twice I am aware of that Americans were in a conflict with Afghanistan... ONCE we were on their side giving aide against Soviet Union... The second We blew the country up for knocking over a couple of our buildings... Not seeing where we did wrong in Afghanistan on either occasion.

@aaronssongs,
Side note, there are continuing operations in Afghaistan as we speak... their is fighting and death, as well as rebuilding.

Unfortunately Bad news sells better than good, and it is human nature to want information on things and situations being fucked up as opposed to positive... HENCE we hear very little from Afghanistan, we hear nothing about the poor Iraqis.
