I love it when people act outside the box of expectations, being human despite all.

JLN, hoping your holiday is not full of whatever you wish it not to contain.

Whew, an UnHoliday greeting is harder than the real thing.

You're diplomatic ways are something to aspire to. Laughing

This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine,
Every day, every day,
Every day, every day,
Gonna let my little light shine.

Very Happy

On Monday, he gave me the gift of love;
On Tuesday, peace came from above.
On Wednesday told me to have more faith;
On Thursday, gave me a little more grace.
On Friday, told me to watch and pray
On Saturday, told me just what to say,
On Sunday, gave power divine
Just to let my little light shine. (oh)

Chorus

Now some say you got to run and hide.
But we say there's no place to hide.
And some say let others decide,
But we say let the people decide.
Some say the time's not right,
But we say the time's just right.
If there's a dark corner in our land,
You got to let your little light shine. (oh)

Chorus

I'm just a little lump of
Coal, coal, coal,
But I'm gonna be a diamond
Someday.

I went to seal poet's website and emailed him a holiday greeting. He replied with a wish also.

Had a nice dinner with my daughter and her family. In years past, the other kids also came, but not so this one. We had the traditional fare. I had trouble with my store-bought teeth and didn't do so well, but we all got stuffed by the time it was finished. Watched some of the Miami-Detroit football game. What a stinker. Finally came home and had a nice little nap.

Each year, I write something for Christmas. Sometimes I like the result, sometimes not. The big problem for me is, all the cliches and nice phrases are overworked by thousands of writers and would be writers. It's hard to get beyond that and still sound "Christmasy." The following may or may not be subject to revision, pending further review.

"My Gift For You Will Be"
written with Tony Bennet's voice in my ear

My gift to you will be
More than a prize
Underneath a Christmas tree

Wise and wonderful bride
A star will take us
For a magical ride

Soon you will see
The world below us will be
A jewel in the mist

O'er it we pause
Shocking Santa Claus
With a long lover's kiss

My love for you will be
More than a prize
More than a prize

I walked up to your house last night
It was dark but you turned on a light
You said to me I'm so all alone

If you stay I will be all right
Would you like to see my Christmas lights
There was one star
One candle
One stocking was hung

I saw a tear you sought to hide
You said forgive my foolish pride
There was one star
One candle
One stocking was hung

I walked up to your house last night
It was dark but you turned on a light
You said to me we two are so alone

If you stay it will be all right
We could throw up more Christmas lights
And make it two stars
Two candles
Two stockings were hung

And kiss away the tears we've cried
Make love all through the silent night
To the glow of two stars
Two candles
Two stockings we've hung

Hi Edgar

I don't believe in any Gods, and Christmas isn't a family time for me,
but I always drink to the 'spirit' of Christmas, which seems to promote gentleness amounst people.

It's been good to read through the thread

thanks - and have a good one

Peace
Endy

Peace, endy.

God made me an atheist. I have no choice but to be what I am. Peace on Earth, brotherhood- -we don't need no stinkin worship figure for that.
