John Edwards in '08

Reply Tue 15 May, 2007 10:51 am
So far my guy for '08 is John Edwards. I feel America is ready for a more down to earth president. Just wondering what everyone else's opinions are on Edwards, either for or against and why?

@leftcoast09,
he's too liberal

I'm personally voting for Gulliani, he's exaclty what Americans are. A mix of liberal and conservative.

@leftcoast09,
What issues do you feel he is too liberal on?

@leftcoast09,
Iraq, and government health care in short

@leftcoast09,
I definitely agree with him on those issues. We should just get out of Iraq and let them get back to their civil war. The violence in the middle east has been persistent for hundreds of years before we got there, why would it change now?
And for health care, a healthy American population can't do anything but improve society in general.

@leftcoast09,
Down to Earth, just like the common man, at least the common man who sues a bunch of people to get rich so he can have $400 haircuts.

You cannot tell me that no other politician has ever paid $400 for a haircut or spent money lavishly.

I doubt it, but Ron Paul is probably the most conscience spender of the publics money around.

@leftcoast09,
Edwards strikes me as an honest, nice guy. I just don't see him leading America. Dunno why. Maybe his hair is too perfect.

@leftcoast09,
Well, no other politician is so adamant about being one of the average people, at least those running for President.

@leftcoast09,
Yeah John Edwards would make a great president--if you like crappy presidents. Give me a break--he made millions chasing ambulances--used his wife's cancer as a political stage--uses his campaign contributions to buy $400 haircuts--and promotes his own theory of two Americas. The guy is a joke and has no backbone--no leadership skills--and has no business ever running the greatest country in the world.

Dare I ask what candidate you feel would not be a "crappy" president? And why?

Well first off leftcoast--there is no easy answer to that. Your have chosen poorly in your party affiliation--but there is no great choice on either side. Your going to vote for a democrat so pick your poison--as stated Edwards is a joke--Mrs Bill Clinton may be a bigger joke--Obama is a great speech giver but is as far left as any lib--and soon you will have Al Gore as another option--and God help us all if he ever got elected. There isnt anyone much better on the right either at the moment--McCain is a joke--Rudy may be the best option right now--but Im hoping for Newt to enter the race--I dont agree with him on all issues--but his common sense far exceeds the other candidates. No easy choice out there--where is the next Reagan when you need him? Your candidates and party have been hijacked--jump ship as soon as you can and at least pick the lesser of two evils.

@leftcoast09,
Leftcoast09 is certainly entitled to his opinions, however misguided I may find them. I suspect his opinions are the result of peer pressure from his circle of friends and not from any practical experience.
