Now that Tony Blair's term is coming to an end. And the start of Gordon Brown's. What do you as Americans think Tony Blair's legacy to the world is/was? I also would like to know what your honest opinion of the guy is!

@couchp,
There are a lot of people in this country, who see him as a lap dog to Bush.
They also say he has not done anything except keep the pound strong.
He has probably had a better foreign policy, than a home one.
Personally on a scale of 1 - 10 I'd put him at a 5, not a bad PM and not a great one, average really. Where do you put Bush?

@couchp,
I don't think that Bush has ever been a good or even mediocre PM.

I do not think Iraq is the reason. Although it was pretty dumb!
I think his party is fed up with his international statesman desire, and his one time fresh personna has now disappeared. His achievements, I honestly cannot think of one! His failures to lead Europe to true unity on; Immigration, Iraq, Schooling, to name a few.
To me his failure to recognise that there is an English identity, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales they all get their own assemblies. England! yes we have the mother of all parliments, but no repesentation as English. Both he and Gordon Brown are Scottish! Gordon Browns constituency is in Edinburgh, what's he doing in London! We feel its a crime to say 'I'm English'
I have no problem with race, as long as they stand up and say, Britain first.
That's England, Scotland, N Ireland & Wales. Creed second.

@couchp,
I agree Couchp, Blair didn't seem the least bit interest in perserving English culture or ethos. He was rather proud of having a Muslim advisor, no christian or Jewish advisor just Muslim. Need I say more, appeasement and pandering with no end in sight for the people of England who mourn their lost culture.

That's what Liberalism does -- it corrodes and erodes traditional culture. It's a spiritual cancer. Wherever it exists, Christianity must oppose it. :headbang:

@couchp,
I agree, we need to beat it to death with a broommmmmmmmmmmm or maybe a 2x4 also. Mulitculture is a dogma that is cancerous to our culture, it's a myth perpetrted by the socialist in the West.

@couchp,
Err, there's nothing wrong with a multiculture.

It's just another effect of freedom.

Freedom is the principle.
Multiculture is the effect.

Principle over effect.

@couchp,
I interpret 'multi-cultural' to really mean 'multi-racial', which is our reality today, and something we all have a huge stake in, like it or not.

I agree there is nothing wrong with multi - culture! As long as the adopted country becomes the home nation no matter what the new comers religion.
Can this work? A bit like socialism really! perfect in principle, and impossible in practice. 'Maybe one day, we'll get it right'

There were two Blairs -- the scumbag liberal who applauded Clinton's adultery and perjury, and the European Warrior Blair, who helped America fight Al Qaeda after 911. I hated the former, but liked the latter.
