@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
I know working at small newspapers doesn't qualify me as a member of the media machine but If I have been working for the propoganda machine for the past seven years I want a pay raise....and yes I know my spell checker needs a serious overhaul

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
Dawkins is this English (I think) atheist. Do a wikipedia search on him. You know the Flying Spaghetti Monster crap that's been going around in some atheist circles? He started it.

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
Oh, yeah. I saw that. I thought Billow did a decent job. At first, I expected him to pummel the guy. He restrained himself. Congrats are in order. On the issue of specific philosophical and/or religious beliefs, I feel we should be tolerant. It's culture where we have to fight like hell. Yes, there's a difference between Christian theology and Christian culture, however slight. There is a difference.

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
A real Christian wouldn't advocate the deaths of billions of people of Islamic faith.

A real Muslim would advocate the deaths of millions of people of the Christian faith.

I agree... extremists are bad in every faith. Anybody who advocates death is wrong period.

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
I love how a non-muslim is stating what a real muslim must believe.

The fortunate thing is, Reagaknight, you're wrong, and Islam is not our enemy, and the majority of them do not wish to kill millions of christians.

To insinuate that they do or should is inaccurate... and makes a great excuse for Nazi-style genocide, doesn't it?

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
I said a real Muslim, which is true. Doesn't the Koran encourage violence to kill, convert, or tax people who don't live in Muslim Lands? I'm not sayin all or most individual Muslims believe it, i'm saying it's an interwoven part of their faith, get used to it.

I am not sure it does, I have never read it in Arabic and gleaned my own interpretation, have you?

"A real Christian wouldn't advocate the deaths of billions of people of Islamic faith."

'Real' Christians tenaciously fought Islam to keep Europe Christian and European for nearly a millennia. You have personally benefitted from their courage, blood and sacrifice, without realizing it. History is the second greatest teacher. It heralds the glory of the WESTERN CHRISTIAN WARRIOR for those who understand, love and will defend with their lives, Western Civilization.

I have read English Qu'ran passages and studied the history, IMO, this is sufficient enough.

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
Another way you can consider Islam is as if it was a political philosophy as any other, and merely advocates what was necessary to gain, keep and expand an empire. It explains why only the Imams are alowed to interpret the Q'uran, and why it is not allowed to be translated, why should you give your deepest political secrets to the enemy? As in the days of Muhammed any non-muslim was a potential enemy, either to expand your borders or to defend them.

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
This is ridiculous. I hope you don't take what you're saying seriously? Islam is regarded by everyone as a religion and as such must be treated like others. Any scholar will tell you the Koran is obviously a holy book, there's no political 'secrets.' It has been translated, whether they like it or not, so people can tell it simply advocates violent means to spread the faith.

@IM-A-DEMOCRAT-BABY,
What is Islam being used for if not political control? For a holy book it is very efficient in conquest, both politically and forcefully. It is treated as a holy book, and interpreted as such, maybe it shouldn't be? I am however being ironic. Though I try to examine things from different perspectives, why not join me on my metaphysical leap? Anyway I think we should continue any more conversation about Islam on another thread, we seem to have forgotten the original thread : "Why to hate the bush administration". Is it just me or do alot of the threads tend to return to discussing Islam?

@rhopper3,
Islam is wrong. The patron saints of Islam in the U.S. are Obama Bin Laden and Rosie O'Donald (AKA: Pig Guts).:no:

I've always seen no problem with letting conversations evolve. In a more active community we might be forced to tighten up a bit though.

I'll just respond things here once. Perhaps the Koran does have tactics for conquest, but for what paticular group? All ethnicities are welcome in Islam. So, the Muslim religion is the group, anyone who follows the Koran. What you say seems true, but there are many distinctly religious verses of the Koran.

Perhaps it should be regarded as a mix of both? The Koran to help the Muslims take over the world and enstate a political-religious government?

And we do talk a lot about Islam (also Christianity, both are frequently my fault). Maybe we should have a thread or two where all discussions about both religions that arise in other threads can be diverted?
