He's easily the most qualified, experienced, and worthy candidate out of the Democratic field to be president. I disagree with the man on almost every major issue, but he's been in the Senate for over 30 years and sits as chairman on the Foreign Relations Committee. He blows Clinton, Obama, and Edwards out of the water when it comes to oratory and experience, it's just a shame that his fundraising efforts are falling way short of major contender status.

If Biden gets the nomination (ie, if Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Dodd, and Richardson ALL get caught, together, in a hotel, with five dead hookers......and a brick of cocaine......ok ten dead hookers), I would vote for the man over any Republican in the field except for Ron Paul. He may be a bit caustic, but maybe that's what the wimps at the DNC need.

See and the scenario you painted is more likely to happen to the Republican field...Republicans being notorious for "pointing fingers" , and doing more dirt than any Democrats would ever think of...as has been borne out, lo, these many days....Republicans 'falling out of the closet', right and left...wearing all manner of dress, tapping out messages with their feet, and lurking in parkway bathrooms, and sending sexy emails to underage pages...why, it would be more likely that Republicans get caught in the scenario you depicted......."and there's a tape of it!!!!" No honor among thieves.

Off topic Aaron, I was simply making up a scenario in which Biden could possibly get the nomination. As you well know, I'm barely a republican.

@aaronssongs,
Giuliani has often been described as "barely a Republican" :cool:

I guess it depends on one's personal opinion of what Republican values are- and they vary greatly, just as they do for other parties. I live in New England, and Republicans here are quite different then those in other parts of the country. My state's governor is a Republican and we are one of the most liberal states in the country. I'm sure that she would be described by many as "barely a Republican". Laughing

On the Democrat's side, look at what happpened to old Joe Lieberman. He suddenly became the Republican's hero for his support of Bush and the Iraq war, even though he has one of the most liberal voting records in Congress. Among many Democrats he is an outcast for the same reason, even though his work and voting record strongly favors Democrats.

I think that it's important that whoever the next president is, he or she must be able to work with both parties.

I'm a conservative libertarian, which means while I vote for the Libertarian Party 9/10 times, if I do venture into voting for the mainstream, it's generally a republican for whom my ballot is cast, if only because most democratic candidates scare the hell out of me with their spending proposals (yes, republicans spend as much money as democrats, in many cases more, but at least they SAY they're fiscal conservatives).

Giuliani is neither democrat nor republican, he is a fascist. He supports corporate interests from a position of power while simultaneously supporting authoritative measures concerning the suppression of dissent and the invasion of privacy. This is known as corporatism, which Benito Mussolini, the world's first recognized fascist leader, argued was a better name for his political ideology.
