I do not understand the importance of Iowa or NH. Together they have less voters that Los Angeles county.

They are the first voters, and the heartland, plus the east coast, supposedly I would think it gives you a broad idea of how the final result will be, too bad that history hasn't shown that. Also it gives candidaites that may not be front running, like the Huckster a chance to get funding going, and god knows he needs it, he is broke.

A junior college professor gave a class on the Electoral College at our last in-service. I asked about Iowa and New Hamster, and he said their importance is mostly rooted in tradition. Dunno.:dunno:

Yeah from what I can tell it is more tradition than anything. I forgot who it was but back in the day a candidate hit these states very hard for a "come from behind victory" I have not looked into it very much though.
