Prophet "Muhammad" (PBUH) in the Bible

Reply Fri 13 Apr, 2007 01:49 pm
"Those who follow the Apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own Scriptures, in the Torah and the Gospel..."(Holy Qur'an: VII-157; Trans: Yusuf Ali)

Bible Prophecies about the Advent of Muhammad (PBUH)

Abraham is widely regarded as the Patriarch of monotheism and the common father of the Jews, Christians and Muslims. Through his second son, Isaac, came all Israelite prophets including such towering figures as Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, and Jesus. May peace and blessings be upon them all. The advent of these great prophets was in partial fulfillment promise to bless the nations of earth through descendants of Abraham (Genesis 12:2-3). Such fulfillment is wholeheartedly accepted by Muslims whose faith considers the belief in and respect of all prophets an article of faith.

Blessings of Ishmael and Isaac

Was the first born son of Abraham (Ishmael) and his descendants included in God's covenant and promise? A few verses from the Bible may help light on this question:

1) Genesis 12:2-3 speaks of God's promise to Abraham and his descendants before any child was born to him.

2) Genesis 17:4 reiterates God's promise after the birth of Ishmael and before the birth of Isaac.

3) In Genesis, ch.21, Isaac is specifically blessed but Ishmael was also specifically blessed and promised by God to become a "great nation" in Genesis 21:13,18.

4) According to Deuteronomy 21:15-17 the traditional rights and privileges of the first born son are not to be affected by the social status of the mother (being a "free" woman such as Sarah, Isaac's mother, or a "Bondwoman"such as Hagar, Ishmael's mother). This is only consistent with the moral and humanitarian principles of all revealed faiths.

5) The full legitimacy of Ishmael as Abraham's son and "seed" and the full legitimacy of his mother, Hagar, as Abraham's wife are clearly stated in Genesis 21:13 and 16:3. After Jesus, the last Israelite prophet, it was time that God's promise to bless Ishmael and his descendants be fulfilled. Less than 600 years after Jesus, came the last messenger of God, Muhammad, from the progeny of Abraham through Ishmael. God's blessing of both of the main branches of family tree was now fulfilled. But is there additional corroborating evidence that the Bible did in fact foretell the advent of prophet Muhammad?

Muhammad (PBUH): The Prophet like unto Moses

Long time after Abraham, God's promise to send the long awaited Messenger was repeated this time in Moses' words. In Deuteronomy 18:18, Moses spoke of the prophet to be sent by God who is:

1) From among the Israelite's "brethren", a reference to their Ishmaelite cousins as Ishmael was the other son of Abraham who was explicitly promised to become a "great nation".

2) A prophet like unto Moses. There were hardly any two prophets who were so much alike as Moses and Muhammad. Both were given comprehensive law code of life, both encountered their enemies and were victors in miraculous ways, both were accepted as prophets/statesmen and both migrated following conspiracies to assassinate them. Analogies between Moses and Jesus overlooks not only the above similarities but other crucial ones as well (e.g. the natural birth, family life and death of Moses and Muhammad but not of Jesus, who was regarded by his followers as the Son of God and not exclusively a messenger of God, as Moses and Muhammad were and as the Muslims belief Jesus was).

The Awaited Prophet was to come from Arabia

Deuteronomy 33:1-2 combines references to Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. It speaks of God (i.e. God's revelation) coming from Sinai, rising from Seir (probably the village of Sa'ir near Jerusalem) and shining forth from Paran. According to Genesis 21:21, the wilderness of Paran was the place where Ishmael settled (i.e. Arabia, specifically Mecca). Indeed the King James Version of the Bible mentions the pilgrims passing through the valley of Ba'ca (another name for Mecca) in Psalms 84:4-6. Isaiah 42:1-13 speaks of the beloved of God. His elect and messenger who will bring down a law to be awaited in the isles and who "shall not fail nor be discouraged till he have set judgement on the earth." Verse 11 connects that awaited one with the descendants of Ke'dar. Who is Ke'dar? According to Genesis 25:13, Ke'dar was the second son of Ishmael, the ancestor of prophet Muhammad.

Muhammad's (PBUH) migration from Mecca to Medina: Prophesied in the Bible?

Habakkuk 3:3 speaks of God (God's help) coming from Te'man (an Oasis North of Medina according to J. Hasting's Dictionary of the Bible), and the holy one coming from Paran. That holy one who was under persecution migrated from Paran (Mecca) to be received enthusiastically in Medina was none but prophet Muhammad. Indeed the incident of the migration of the prophet and his persecuted followers is vividly described in Isaiah 21:13-17. That section foretold as well about the battle of Badr in which the few ill-armed faithful miraculously defeated the "mighty" men of Ke'dar, who sought to destroy Islam and intimidate their own folks who turned to Islam.

Was the shift of religious leadership prophesied?

Following the rejection of the last Israelite prophet, Jesus, it was about time that God's promise to make Ishmael a great nation to be fulfilled (Genesis 21:13, 18).

In Matthew 21:19-21, Jesus spoke of the fruitless fig tree (A Biblical symbol of prophetic heritage) to be cleared after being given the last chance of three years ( the duration of Jesus' ministry) to give fruit. In a later verse in the same chapter, Jesus said "Therefore, say I unto you, The Kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruit thereof"(Matthew 21:43). That nation of Ishmael's descendants (the rejected stone in Matthew 21:42) which was victorious against all super-powers of its time as prophesied by Jesus:"And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken, but on whosoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder" Matthew (21:44).

Out of Context Coincidence?

Is it possible that the numerous prophecies cited here are all individually and combined out of context misinterpretations? Is the opposite true, that such infrequently studied verses fit together consistently and clearly to point to the advent of the man who changed the course of human history, Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him). Is it reasonable to conclude that all these prophecies, appearing in different books of the Bible and spoken by various prophets at different times were all coincidence? If this is so, here is another strange "coincidence"!

One of the signs of the prophet to come from Paran (Mecca) is that he will come with "tens of thousands of saints"(Deuteronomy 33:2 KJV). That was the number of faithful who accompanied Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) to Paran (Mecca) in his victorious, bloodless return to his birthplace to destroy the remaining symbols of idolatry in the Ka'bah. Says God as quoted by Moses:"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto My words which he shall speak in My name, I will require it of him."(Deuteronomy 18:19).

@SWORD of GOD,
Weren't you banned?

Anyway, any Bible verse that you use is too vague to be considered in proving your point. Jesus and Muhammed's messages were conflicting; Jesus preached a message of piece, while Muhammed preached war against any Christians, Jews, or other nonbelievers that got in his way.

@SWORD of GOD,
After careful analysis of the Muslim religion it has become abundantly clear that a considerable amount of social dysfunction is required to subscribe. The basis of the religion is one large lie of omission, requiring the suspension of reason. Is it any wonder that the bulk of the Islamic religion has the educational capacity of a kindergardner. It is almost a pre-requisite to lack intelligence, otherwise it would be difficult to live with the hypocrasy that spews from the mouths of it's leaders.
For example:
Sword of god wrote...."Such fulfillment is wholeheartedly accepted by Muslims whose faith considers the belief in and respect of all prophets an article of faith."
Is that funny or what? Sword is actually proving my point for me. The double talk is rampant, the hypocrasy pervasive. Muslims actually consider it an article of faith to believe in and respect the prophets of the Jews and christians. Yet if actions are any indication of intent, (actions speak louder then words) the infidels (everyone not muslim) are to be wipe from the face of the earth, murdered by Allahs sword or some other jibberish like that.

Sword of GOD,
The problem you are going to face on this forum is that it is composed of intelligent individuals with varying degrees of education. Islam has no appeal to people of that nature, for they see it for what it truely is. A farce perpetrated by swindlers.

@SWORD of GOD,
Twelve Proofs that Muhammad (PBUH) is a True Prophet

1. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was raised illiterate, unable to read or write, and remained like that till his death. Among all his people, he was known as being truthful and trustworthy. Before receiving revelation, he had no prior knowledge of Religion or any previously sent Message. He remained like that for his first forty years. Revelation then came to Muhammad with the Koran that we now have between our hands. This Koran mentioned most of the accounts found in the previous scriptures, telling us about these events in the greatest detail as if he witnessed them. These accounts came precisely as they were found in the Torah sent down to Moses and in the Gospel sent down to Jesus. Neither the Jews or Christians were able to belie him regarding anything that he said.

2. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) also foretold of everything that would occur to him and his community after him, pertaining to victory, the removal of the tyrannical kingdoms of Chosroes [the royal title for the Zoroastrian kings of Persia] and Caesar, and the establishment of the religion of Islam throughout the earth. These events occurred exactly as Muhammad foretold, as if he was reading the future from an open book.

3. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) also brought an Arabic Quran that is the peak of eloquence and clarity. The Quran challenged those eloquent and fluent Arabs of his time, who initially belied him, to bring forth a single chapter like the Quran. The eloquent Arabs of his day were unable to contest this Quran.

Indeed, till our day, none has ever dared to claim that he has been able to compose words that equal-or even approach-the order, grace, beauty, and splendor of this Glorious Quran.

4. The life history of this Noble Prophet was a perfect example of being upright, merciful, compassionate, truthful, brave, generous, distant from all evil character, and ascetic in all worldly matters, while striving solely for the reward of the Hereafter. Moreover, in all his actions and dealings, he was ever mindful and fearful of Allah.

5. Allah instilled great love for Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) in the hearts of all who believed in and met him. This love reached such a degree that any of his companions would willingly sacrifice his (or her) self, mother or father for him.

Till today, those who believe in Muhammad honor and love him. Anyone of those who believe in him would ransom his own family and wealth to see him, even if but once.

6. All of history has not preserved the biography of any person in the manner it has preserved the life of Muhammad, who is the most influential human in history.

Nor has the entire earth known of anyone whom every morning and evening, and many times thereafter throughout the day, is thought of by those who believe in him. Upon remembering Muhammad, the believers in him will greet him and ask Allah to bless him. They do such with full hearts and true love for him.

7. Nor has there every been a man on earth whom is still followed in all his doings by those who believe in him.

Those who believe in Muhammad, sleep in the manner he slept; purify themselves (through ablution and ritual washing) in the manner he purified himself; and adhere to his practice in the way they eat, drink, and clothe themselves.

Indeed in all aspects of their lives, the believers in Muhammad adhere to the teachings he spread among them and the path that he traveled upon during his life.

During every generation, from his day till our time, the believers in this Noble Prophet have fully adhered to his teachings. With some, this has reached the degree that they desire to follow and adhere to the Prophet's way in his personal matters regarding which Allah has not sought of them to adhere to in worship. For example, some will only eat those specific foods or only wear those specific garments that the Messenger liked.

Let alone all that, all those who believe in Muhammad repeat those praises of Allah, special prayers, and invocations that he would say during each of his actions during day and night, like: what he would say when he greeted people, upon entering and leaving the house, entering and leaving the mosque, entering and leaving the bathroom, going to sleep and awaking from sleep, observing the new crescent, observing the new fruit on trees, eating, drinking, dressing, riding, traveling and returning from travel, etc.

Let alone all that, all those who believe in Muhammad fully perform-even to the minute detail-every act of worship-like prayer, fasting, charity, and pilgrimage-as this Noble Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) taught and as he himself performed.

All of this allows those who believe in him, to live their lives in all aspects with this Noble Messenger as their example, as if he was standing before them, for them to follow in all their doings.

8. There has never been nor will there ever be a man anywhere upon this earth who has received such love, respect, honor, and obedience in all matters-small and large alike-as has this Noble Prophet.

9. Since his day, in every region of the earth and during every period, this Noble Prophet has been followed by individuals from all races, colors and peoples. Many of those who followed him were previously Christians, Jews, pagans, idolaters, or without any religion. Among those who chose to follow him, were those who were known for their sound judgment, wisdom, reflection, and foresight. They chose to follow this Noble Prophet after they witnessed the signs of his truthfulness and the evidences of his miracles. They did not choose to follow Muhammad out of compulsion or coercion or because they had adopted the ways of their fathers and mothers.

Indeed many of the followers of this Prophet (may Allah's blessings peace be upon him), chose to follow him during the time when Islam was weak, when there were few Muslims, and when there was severe persecution of his followers on earth. Most people who have followed this Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) have done so not to acquire some material benefits. Indeed many of his followers have suffered the greatest forms of harm and persecution as a result of following this Prophet. Despite all this harm and persecution, this did not turn them back from his religion.

My brethren! All of this clearly indicates to anyone possessing any sense, that this Prophet was truly and really Allah's messenger and that he was not just a man who claimed prophethood or spoke about Allah without knowledge.

10. With all this, Muhammad came with a great religion in its credal and legal make-up.

Muhammad described Allah with qualities of complete perfection, and at the same time in a manner that is free of ascribing to Him any imperfection. Neither the philosophers or the wise could ever describe Allah like such. Indeed it is impossible to imagine that any human mind could conceive of an existing being that possesses such complete ability, knowledge, and greatness; Who has subdued the creation; Who has encompassed everything in the universe, small or large; and Who possesses such perfect mercy.

Nor is it in the ability of any human being to place a perfect law based upon justice, equality, mercy and objectivity for all human activity on earth like the laws that Muhammad brought for all spheres of human activity - like buying and selling, marriage and divorce, renting, testimony, custody, and all other contracts that are necessary to uphold life and civilization on earth.

11. It is impossible that any person conceive wisdom,, morals, good manners, nobleness of characters as what this honorable Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) brought.

In a full and complete manner, Muhammad spread a teaching regarding character and manners toward one' parents, relatives, fiends, family, humanity, animals, plants and inanimate objects. It is impossible for the human mind alone to grasp all of that teaching or come with a similar teaching.

All of that unequivocally indicates that this Messenger did not bring an) of this religion from his own accord, but that it was rather a teaching and inspiration that he received from the One Who created the earth and the high heavens above and created this universe in its miraculous architecture and perfection.

12. The legal and credal make-up of the religion that the Messenger, Muhammad,(may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) brought resembles the engineering of the heavens and the earth. All of that indicates that He who created the heavens and the earth is the One Who sent down this great law and upright religion.

The degree of inimitability of the Divine law that was sent down upon Muhammad is to the same degree of inimitability of the Divine creation of the heavens and earth. For just as humanity cannot create this universe, in the same manner humanity cannot bring forth a law like Allah's law that He sent down upon His servant and messenger Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him).

@SWORD of GOD,
Here is who the Muslims worship ALONE:

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Allah! There is no God but He,
the Living, the Self-subsisting, the Eternal.
No slumber can seize Him, nor sleep.
All things in heaven and earth are His.
Who could intercede in His presence without His permission?
He knows what appears in front of and behind His creatures.
Nor can they encompass any knowledge of Him except what he wills.
His throne extends over the heavens and the earth,
and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them,
for He is the Highest and Most Exalted. (Quran)

@SWORD of GOD,
Reasons Why Muhammad (Not Jesus)
Should be Ranked as Most Influential Person in History

By: M. S. Abdullah's

I believe that Muhammad (PBUH) should be the first in the list even though Jesus (PBUH) was a great man, Muhammad was an even greater man and a greater influence to humanity. Michael Hart (a non-Muslim, in particular a Christian) was correct in taking a non-biased view and choosing Muhammad.

Just look at the statistics and history

Christianity (1.9+ billion people). 600 year head start on Islam

Islam (1.5+ billion people). Catching up at a rate of 10:1. Many of the converts are Atheists or Christians (including many Church leaders and ministers). By 2025 Muslims will out number Christians.

In America pre 9/11 40000+ people convert to Islam per year, post 9/11, people have became curious about what makes Muslims tick. They are now discovering that what Muslims like these do are completely in the opposite direction to the teachings of Muhammad and Islam, hence why the number of converts has increased to 78000+ a year.

Jesus' message was 2.4 years, Muhammad's 23 years

Jesus' had 120 followers at the end of his time on earth Muhammad had tens of thousands.

Muhammad confirmed Jesus and believed in him, as Jesus said to his disciples whilst in the Garden of Gethsemane that someone would come to confirm him

Jesus said he came to the tribe of Israel only, Muhammad said he came to all mankind.

The different denominations of Christianity don't agree with each other about Mary, Jesus, the trinity, the many versions and revisions of the Bible etc, whereas the different denominations of Islam agree that Muhammad is the final Prophet, Jesus is a Prophet and performed miracles, God is One and Only, and the exact Quran as at the time of Muhammad is still used today by all the denominations, and the originals are still available.

10's of millions of Muslims have memorised the entire Quran all over the world, whereas no Christian has memorised the bible and if they did they would have to memorise their own version and would have to update their memorisations every time a new revision was released.

The bible that we know today was written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John (who are they? Real name? Last name?) and Paul (Saul of Tarsus: A Christian Killer) who preached to the Gentiles which Jesus said not to do. None where direct disciples of Jesus.

What is known as Apocrypha today is the Gospels that the Roman (Origin Pagans: worshiped many gods, human gods etc) Catholic Church wanted to destroy because it denies the trinity and the divinity of Jesus and reveals the coming of another (Muhammad)."Eg. The Gospel of Barnabas was accepted as a Canonical Gospel in the Churches of Alexandria till 325 C.E. In 325 C.E., the Nicene Council was held, where it was ordered that all original Gospels in Hebrew script should be destroyed. An Edict was issued that any one in possession of these Gospels will be put to death"(Gospel of Barnabas )

Jesus did not found Christianity and the Church (Paul did). Muhammad founded Islam.

Muhammad taught a way of life from birth to death. Things as simple as one should sit down when they put their shoes on etc (This has been medically proven that putting your shoes on whilst standing and hunching causes lower back pain). He taught every day life issues etc.

The Quran contains many scientific information that has been confirmed by science only in the last century. Would Muhammad have known all this stuff or is he a lucky guesser?

The world as we know it today was influenced by Islam, scientifically, mathematically, medically, agriculturally as well as through art etc. Islam promoted education for both men and women whereas the Church forbade it and called it blasphemy and the penalty was death to anyone who would go against the Church (PBS - Islam: Empire of Faith a documentary by non-Muslim American historians and lecturers in religion)

Islam is in no way derived from Zoroastrianism but it the same preserved original Monotheism religion of all prophets (the same religion of Abraham peace be upon him) while Christianity is not.

The list can go on for many pages, but I think that has said enough.
So looking at the facts from a subjective point of view shows that there should be no doubt that Muhammad should be the first on the list.

I wonder if Muhammad could be classified as the "Anti-Christ"?

Why?

Jesus taught - Love Thy Neighbor + the Story of the Good Samaritan
Muhammad taught - Kill those that do not believe or stand in your way.

@SWORD of GOD,
If I am not mistaken there are only about a dozen or so passages in the Q'uran calling for terror and death, the rest is pretty coherent with the teachings of christian prophets.

I am not gonna talk about the teachings of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) because they have been repeatedly posted to you in this Forum. I am going to remind you (and the readers) of your man-made bible. Moreover, I should remind the reader here that Muslims believe that the Bible has been corrupted so it is no longer the Word of God. Also, Jesus, "the GOD" !, is the one who supposedly inspired both the Old and the New Testaments (as Christians claim):

Love Or Hate !?:

Jesus required his disciples to hate father and mother
(Luke 14:26), and said that he came to turn the children
against their parents (Matt 10:35, Luke 12:51-53). "Call no
man your father" (Matt 23:9). But you should provide for your family (1 Tim 5:8). !!

You must be willing to hate your brother (and your family) to be a follower of Jesus (Luke 14:26).

Kill People Who Don't Listen to Priests:

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT).

Death for Adultery:

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT).

Death for Fornication:

A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB).

Death to Followers of Other Religions:

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

Kill Nonbelievers:

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB).

Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night:

But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB).

Kill Followers of Other Religions:

1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT).

Kill Sons of Sinners:

Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB).

Kill Men, Women, and Children:

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT).

God Will Kill the Children of Sinners:

If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted. (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT).

You Have to Kill:

Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood. (Jeremiah 48:10 NAB).

Mass Murder:

The men of Israel withdrew through the territory of the Benjaminites, putting to the sword the inhabitants of the city, the livestock, and all they chanced upon. Moreover they destroyed by fire all the cities they came upon. (Judges 20:48 NAB).

Kill Your Neighbors:

(Moses) stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, "All of you who are on the LORD's side, come over here and join me." And all the Levites came. He told them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Strap on your swords! Go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other, killing even your brothers, friends, and neighbors." The Levites obeyed Moses, and about three thousand people died that day. Then Moses told the Levites, "Today you have been ordained for the service of the LORD, for you obeyed him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Because of this, he will now give you a great blessing." (Exodus 32:26-29 NLT).

Kill All of Babylon:

"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT).

Death to the Rape Victim:

If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife. (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB).

Rape is God's Punishment !! :

God didn't like that, so he punished David by having all his wives raped in public! (II Samuel 11:2-12:12).

Jesus's Sword or Peace ?!:

“For those my enemies who they think I (Jesus) shall not be a king over them bring them here and chop their heads before me (Jesus) " The Christians biblical Jesus Christ saying that (luke19: 27).

"Do not think that I (Jesus) came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." The Christians biblical Jesus Christ saying that (Matthew 10:34).

Who made your bible?

I should remind the reader here that Muslims believe that the Bible has been corrupted so it is no longer the Word of God.

I don't think we asked.

@SWORD of GOD,
Sword - Jesus did not inspire the Old Testament.
The OT was in existence long before Jesus showed up on the scene.

Luke 14:26 The manner in which you quote Luke 14:26 shows how shallow your understanding is of the times and the context. Needless to say the passages have been translated many times and the time context has changed. The original Greek word used was "miseo" which means hate but Jesus did not speak Greek. The proper interpretation should be "love less than". What Jesus was preaching that you can't love your parents more than you love God. You must love God more than you love any other person and only then can you be my Disciple.

Matthew 10:35 = Of course joining Jesus would cause family problems and Jesus is warning them that this will happen. If you look at the Jewish 613 Mitzvot you will see 37 Not to love the missionary, 38 Not to cease hating the missionary, 39 Not to save the missionary. Because people that Jesus was preaching to were Jews, the Disciples and followers would be seen as Missionaries which the Jewish Mitzvot commanded against.

Matthew 10:37 - Goes a bit further saying - Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Which is in line with the interpretation of Luke 14:26.

The vast majority of your quotes have to do with the Old Testament which again came out BEFORE the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Well..I advice you first to discuss with your christian friends in the forum and make your mind. Is Jesus God or Not.

If Jesus God then he must be the God of Moses and the biblical jews (or do you deny that!!), and therefore he had inspired Torah (Old Testament) too.

You christians seem to be in state of DENIAL whenever been faced with truth and shocking reality about your Blind Faith.

@SWORD of GOD,
I think what swordy is saying is that Jesus was the physical avatar of the God Spirit whom is also the God of Israel Yahweh. This is based off of Jesus's own claims "I and the father are one".

He would be correct from a christian theological standpoint, although several Christian groups to include the Franks believed that Jesus wasn't God, just his living son. Sort of a Polytheistic Christianity if you will...

@SWORD of GOD,
Haven't you ever said to your wife/girlfriend we are one? haven't you ever felt that you were one with someone, someone who could know what you felt and thought and you knew of them as well? Couldn't that be the meaning of this?
On another note Sword of God please I might have a diferent Bible, and I didn't check every quote, but this one I did: Luke 19:27 - "And he said, the things which are impossible with men are possible with God." where did you get this from :
Quote:
“For those my enemies who they think I (Jesus) shall not be a king over them bring them here and chop their heads before me (Jesus) " The Christians biblical Jesus Christ saying that (luke19: 27).

Silverchild79 - your body has many parts does it not? You have a nose and an two eyes, you have two legs and maybe even two testicles. Are each of those parts separate entities or are they YOU? God is obviously a multidimensional being. A person can't comprehend God so God had to send his "son" to us in a form that we can understand. The Son (aspect of God) - Jesus - came to earth in human form. Does this mean that he is "different" or a separate entity? No. Therefore Christianity is not a polytheistic religion.

In the days that the Bible was written - who would have understood multi-dimensionality? People wrote what they could understand. If we had to define the relationship of God + Son + Holy Spirit we would probably define te multiple aspects of God in a more sophisticated way.

Is there confusion - yes. We are mere mortals and therefore can't comprehend the fullness of God and we make errors. Is it time for a spiritual renovation? Maybe.

As for the Muslims - they worship the same God that the Jews and the Christians worship. The stories of the Old Testament are also the foundation for Islam - are they not the stories of Abraham and the rest not a part of the Koran? My problem with Islam is the concept of Muhammad - claiming to be a prophet writing "the words that he heard from God". How do we know that he really heard the words of God? Could he have had an agenda? For a "Holy Man" - he sure did cause a lot of personal bloodshed. In 700 AD - Rome and Constantinople were power-houses built on religion. Could Muhammad wanted to discredit those two power-houses for his own political agenda?

As for the Old Testament. I never did understand nor like the "Old God" of vengeance and genocide. I do not like the concept of a God that ONLY liked the Jews. If it was up to me, the Old Testament would be excised like an inflamed appendix.
