Along with "Rififi," the two major origins of the "heist" flick.

Don Ameche, but not sure if that's Gene Tierney in the orignal "Heaven Can Wait."

Right on the button! It is Gene Tierney in the original (and better version) of "Heaven Can Wait".

Your turn, Monsieur! Very Happy

I've removed the TinyURL link as it is another film from the same director and rather than it be a clue it will more likely be confusing. I haven't checked to see if TinyURL is working so I had to use the link even though Properties give a vague clue.

Not too much to go there. Is it a foreign movie?

The reason the picture is previously blank is Tiny URL is not working. I went back to edit the post and it does contain the link. However, it isn't loading and the home page of TinyURL won't load this morning either. If the pic come back, it will be a clue to the new pic.

The second picture looks like Jean Cocteau and now that I look at the first one it looks like Jean Marais. So my guess would be "Orphée"

The first one was omitted and although that's the correct answer, that's not the second image.

("Angels in America" pays homage to "La Belle and La Bete" in one of the chapters).

There is a visual hint with the still from what *caramel* guessed correctly but that image just came through (apparantly some problem with the Tiny URL site). The second image is the correct one so four more guesses and I'll give another clue.

So is it Jean Cocteau in that second image?
