Politicians are they worthy of any praise?

I've become jaded and bitter, I've come to the conclusion that no matter whom we elect the left or the right or other once elected don't care about their Country or it's citizens. There are days that I feel like nothing more than a comrade in Canada, my government or those elected do what's best for Big Business and quash the wishes of the people who elected them. I feel we need to start shouting out with anger and hold those we elect accountable. Politicians remind me of pond scum, they always float to the top and foul up the water.

What say you fellow posters?

@Red cv,
Red

Each elected politician has a nucleus of important or wealthy people calling the shots.

It isn't the politician - he/she is the puppet in the ring - the acceptable speaker, looker, and thinker.... but acts according to the ring circling him/her - those who are responsible for the win.

The people think they elect someone - the people are actually following the call of the traditional follow the crowd - the popular thinking - the dream of a future - and all the other bunk they tell you.

It's simple to figure out - take any politician - go over the record in office up against their campaign promises....

A very low percentage is accomplished.

@Red cv,
I think some politicians are worthy of praise.

Those are the ones who never win anything.

@Red cv,
We'll never know exactly how our government functions or the shadowy forces that influence it so powerfully. The best we can do is to elect the best people possible and keep harassing them to be honest.

@Red cv,
The money needs to be taken out of politics. If there is a way to prevent the ties between money and office then there is hope of reform. Until then what you see is what you get.

Without money, there wouldn't be politics.

@Red cv,
I see no way to separate money and power from politics.

@Red cv,
It's all so depressing, I think we should make them take lie detector tests before we vote for them.

Good post Skye but I still think they are slimy slugs, first lawyers and now politicians. Spew, they make me gagggggggggggggggggg.

@Red cv,
Right now, our politicians really are lying when they say they can get us out of Iraq. That is a complete lie.

@Red cv,
Where'd all the decent honest hardworking politicians go? I want normal everyday people running for government, I'm tired of rich men and lawyers getting elected. Times hopefully will change if we the people demand it.

So much of America is totally caught up in money, there is simply no way we could ever change that. We are filthy-rich, as a country, and therefore dogged around the clock by profiteers. It's us.:spaz:

Our only salvation is Christ. If we don't abandon the worship of mammon, we're doomed.:no:

Power corrupts.

A childhood friend of mine ran for city council of our town and was elected handily. I used to knock the crap out of him when he was a kid. Now he calls ahead for a table at Chili's. What's the world coming to?

Yea the heady heights of power and the politicians forget us "Unwashed masses". I don't trust any of them, left, right-far left-far right-idiots NDP in Canada.

@Red cv,
Our state senator purchased an older home in a nearby neighborhood to me. Shortly after moving in, he had the entire street, full of 30 years of potholes, re-surfaced immediately. Went right to the top of the priority list.

@Red cv,
The atheistic world of Man is inherently corrupt and self-destructive. Our only chance of surviving ourselves is to maintain a distinctly Christian order.
