@mendy,
If that is what you believe form a union for the develpment of Azerbaijan, but take great care in not acting violently as to not stimulate violence and hatred. If you wish to opose the USA do that, but not as enemies, but as brothers together in the quest for progress, don't fight them, change them through peace and understanding. You have a long way ahead of you if you choose to do this, but it will be a worthwhile one.

@mendy,
Azerbaijan would do well to steer clear of any association with the U.S.

We screw up every country we get involved in.

@mendy,
It's ok just so long as you don't raise gas prices because then we go to WAR. By the way does Azerbaijan have oil, LOL?

@mendy,
Now, the fight is ON to spread influence, diminish vulnerabilities, and secure interests. Your part of the world is caught up in a colossal struggle between Islamic and European forces. The U.S. is just ONE such participant, and has good reason to play for keeps.

@mendy,

@mendy,
"What does 9-11 have to do with it?"

What DOESN'T it have to do with it? Think about it. Consider geography, demographics, especially religious and ethnic considerations, geo-politics, especially America's current wars in neighboring Afghanistan and Iraq, and its problems with Iran, the U.S. alliance with Israel, her strategy of precluding the formation of the infamous 'Shiite Crescent' in the Middle East, Russian challenges, nuke proliferation, U.S. neo-con strategies, etc., etc., etc. Sorry......but Mendy is sitting in a cauldron of geo-political intrigue, conflict and subterfuge. If she's Muslim, she needs to know that BOTH Russia and the U.S. do not want her community to triumph in the region. :FU1:

Thats is the American Government's opinion of how the world should work, maybe they should simply agree to disagree.

It's not a matter of opinion. It's a matter of geo-political interest and conflict. It's real. :FU1:

@mendy,
The conflict is real, but it was generated by the USA's policy of spreading democracy, and democracy is an opinion of how to govern.

The real issue is geo-strategic advantage. Again, 911 changed everything. America is now 'on the hunt', for revenge and protection from future attacks. OBL cried 'havoc', and America unleashed her dogs of war. :no:

@mendy,
the public war, and the secret war. The latter entails all manner of horror and mayhem worldwide, yet we know almost nothing about it.:no:

@mendy,
US wants to grab all of former USSR republics away from Russia. When I visited Moldova in 2004, there were many items on grocery shelves from Russia, but considerably less in 2007. Deep down everything boils down to MONEY no matter if the up front label is "War on Terror" or "Islamists" or "Socialism" or whatever.

@mendy,
Quite a superficial reason, these men and women are the ones who truely need religion or something similar in their lives, they need a cause other than themselves.

@mendy,
"It seems to me that GUAM controlled by USA, close co-operation with NATO and Turkey, and West in general just hampers Azeri development and that we won’t get anything but big troubles and destabilization of situation in the country."

Yeah....you'd probably be better off re-subjugated by Russia, or under Sharia Law, as effected by a Taliban-like organization. You should repel the U.S., and invite Al Qaeda to set up shop.
