I wish.......Very Happy

We need to close our borders too..Too many illegal immigrants live on fraud and free benefits...UK must be tougher to control asylum seekers, entry of foreign drug dealers and illegal sex trafficking from East Europe countries. ::frown: :eek:

Deportation of asylum seeker must be initiate when the country they are fleeing from is safer to return to.. :thumbup:

@Sherman cv,
We are doing ours in stages.Very Happy

We do the first 700 miles before this election and the rest before the next election.:patriot:

By then we will have enough illegals to finish it.

I haven't heard where the funding is coming from .:wtf:

@Sherman cv,
It was just approved, but the funding hasn't been arranged yet. Hmm, maybe we'll get Mexicans to build it. Anyway, I think it's a great idea. If the wall helps to stop about half of the illegals coming into our border, it'll make things a lot easier to manage. We'd be able to crack down on those coming into our borders illegally, and eventually illegal immigration could become so limited that it's not even a problem.

@Sherman cv,
We should close the borders, and reform our immigration policies to be
practical and efficient. We can't, as a country and a system, support the
influx of illegal immigrants. Either secure the borders or close the educational,
medical and social agencies to undocumented persons.

We should also put pressure on Mexico to get its house in order. The wealthiest
country in Central America, and 40+% of its people are unemployed or live in poverty.

@Sherman cv,
The problem with the U.N. is that it should only be one of many global
coalition entities, not the only one... expected t do the impossible.

Mexico PROMOTES illegal immigration to its poor. These are loyal people
who send most of the money earned in the U.S. back to Mexico, their familes
and Mexican banks. Mexico is making a fortune from illegal immigration.
They are just as bad to their own people as Nigeria or Saudi Arabia, and
one way or another we're going to have to deal with it ourselves at some
point.

Without justice there can be no peace.

Agreed..

But still it is UN job, to make the world a better place, that't the reason of its formation...If USA it would have consult or brought to table of UN, its plan to invade Iraq, i am sure the situation would have taken another turn of events...Meaning that UN have the power to send researcher, political ambassador and do whatever it valuate necessary for the security and order in the world....If Bush had done that at the time, he wouldn't be seen as bad as he is now...:frown:

@Sherman cv,
Do you know how the U.N. works?

A member state, such as the United States of America, asks it's partners
to help it achieve some goal, either for itself or for another member state
in its interests, or the interest of the global community.

So, the United States, through the U.N., should put pressure on Mexico
to reform itself internally, and also on its own, along with whoever else
it can get on board, through sanctions and other tools of diplomacy.

We should also do the same with the Middle-eastern states, and African
states that are out of control at the moment.

@oleo,
I doubt that many people who do not like politics, know UN what it stand for and how it works..I do know..Tha's why after th 9/11 if Bush had informed US plans by holding a briefing on the war on terror to the UN organization, it would have dissipated the myth of american imperialism elaborated by the common people around the world..It woulds have been seen for what it is, a war on terror....It is the world interests to fight muslim radicals, poverty and so on everywhere. In my book it is a United Nation all together job....

...and I can agree with that, whole-heartedly.

...and when the U.N. can't or won't do what needs to be done then form
other coalitions to get it done.

Which Bush did.

The problem he has is:

1) he was unjustified in going into Iraq, and they've failed to justify the
reasons they used.

2) Iraq was not a country overrun with extremist muslims. It is now. Some
Americans are dumb enough to believe what they're told one minute and
forget what they were told the minute before but most people around the
world are a little sharper than that. We've made everything much, much
worse in Iraq and the region, including crippling Iran's traditional "cold war"
opponent. We've set theocratic Iran, not secular Iraq, up as the power in
the region. Now we have to deal with that one.

@oleo,
Maybe America made it worse!! Who knows....Probably if 9/11 it had not happened US did not have an excuse to go over there...:no:

But American people are not foolish, they needed justice to be done for that horrendous crime...That's all...Maybe Iraq was not the perpetretor directly but he financed foundamentalist groups....I agree that we shouldn't have gone there, simply because of what you said about crippling the political force such Russia and creating more hostility towards the West...:approve:

UN also got to be blamed and take some responsabilty because it should have mediate and not sit on its ass when the world and America need it most....So what's the point to have UN??? I would like to give a piece of my mind to Kofi Annan myself....:whipping:
