Ok, well the 2006 elections are coming up, and it is going to be a tough vote for most. Here are the big three choices:
PAN - Felipe Calder?n. continue with the same party in power, and wait for things to get done. Chances are if he wins the election, the congress will still be largely divided between the three parties and make it impossible to get anything done. As it was with Vicente Fox. Continue great international relations, encourage investment and local businesses.
PRD - Andres M. L?pez Obrador. The third party finally comes into power? The former Mayor of Mexico City. He did some great things as mayor of the city. Plans to cut down ex-president salaries and reform the gov. A man who lives in a small apartment and his campaign is about putting the poor first. Tough on the rich and private businesses. Far left candidate friends with both Chavez and Castro. Made many infrastructure improvements in mexico city while he was mayor, more than ever before.
PRI - Roberto Madrazo. Go back to the old party and probably back to the old ways. This guy is as corrupt as you can be.
@SVTRob,
Um... Move this to the North American forum now I guess...
@SVTRob,
The last time I was in Mexico, Madrazo had strong support. Seeing as how the PAN party is in power and approved of, I dont think the leadership will change.
@SVTRob,
I am almost certain the PRD will win. Which is great and shows how well democracy is working in the country, however I am paranoid about his future foreign policies.
@SVTRob,
What worrys you about them? How do you think he will change?
@SVTRob,
from what I've read, none of their choices are all that great. remind you of something?
@SVTRob,
Remineds me of when the opozer lost?

Basically two things:
1. Foreign policy: He seems to agree too much with the radical views of Chavez and Castro.
2. It seems as though he will be leaning towards the lower class too much. Huge taxation to the upper class could seriously hurt the economy.
@SVTRob,
1. He must like communism.
2. That is how the USA works, the top 15% of the bread winners in America pay 90% of the tax burden. No it's not fair. I don't know how much more it would hurt there economy.
