I thought this was interesting. Do you believe that leaders of this nation should not take into account what the people believe?

Sounds like something a dictator would say.

CHENEY: On the security front, I think there’s a general consensus that we’ve made major progress, that the surge has worked. That’s been a major success.

RADDATZ: Two-third of Americans say it’s not worth fighting.

CHENEY: So?

RADDATZ So? You don’t care what the American people think?

CHENEY: No. I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.

Do you trust polls? Do you believe everyone who cites polls -- polls you never personally took, saw, witnessed others taking, knew anything about, etc., etc.? What poll, conducted by whom, which asked what? Granted, Cheney could have answered those questions more adroitly. I suspect he's one honked off old dude right now. He just looks angry as hell.

He said he didn't care what the american people think, a man like that should have never been in office.

Better than cheney's "one step forward, two steps back" policy.

FF has nothing to do all day, it seems, so a pure democracy where we voted on everything would not interfere with his life.

Right. As I advised before -- put away the glue, or wear a mask when using it.

So you agree with Cheney that politicians shouldn't care what America thinks?

Shouldn't make policy decisions based on unofficial polls.

You forgot some. People can vote out those they disagree with. This is the only safe way of democracy. If leaders made decisions based on public opinion all the time, this country would probably not still exist.

And if they didn't, it most certainly wouldn't.

Cheney said that he did not care what the american people thought, was it not you that said that politicians should represnt the american people? Cheney never questioned the accuracy of oppinion polls, and simply disregarded them altogather. I'll also have you know that not all goverment leaders were elected into the office they hold.

Noticably, this places the Remington bolt-action rifle's creation at several days before the creation of Man

Well, the voters shouldn't have elected someone who they did not think would appoint people that the voters wanted, should they? When an administration is elected, it will naturally appoint people on its side to government posts.
