President Bush is trying when it comes to immigration.
He just appeared in Omaha, Nebraska in front of an invited audience of 400 people to hear him talk about immigration reform.
He is trying but I don?t think he has the right ideas to solve the ?problem?.
First of all, I am surprised he found 400 Americans in Nebraska to show up as an audience. Nebraska is one state whose economy that without immigration ? illegal or otherwise ? would collapse overnight.
I used to be in favor of closing the border but I am not anymore. There is plenty of room in this nation as anyone can tell you.
Mexico and the United States are close. The border is imaginary. Our populations have met in the middle of the continent and we are mixing now. The reality is that rather than a system to integrate these folks it should be admitted they are integrated. Mexico is part of the United States just as the United States is a part of Mexico.
I believe that dual citizenship is the realistic solution to this manufactured problem.
Presidente Fox calling Mexicans that leave Mexico for the U.S. patriots is just as absurd as President Bush calling for immigration reform even though during the time Bush was governor of Texas over 5 million illegal aliens entered Texas.
Anyone in North or South America is an American already. We are living our lives that way and it is about time our governments catch up to reality.
@cranston36 cv,
I wouldn't really call Chavez an ally, and tax-wise, I don't think dual citizenship would work.
@cranston36 cv,
Where do you copy and paste this stuff from?
@cranston36 cv,
Unlike in Great Britain and some other countries , dual citizenship is not legal in the USA .
Making illiegal immigrants citizens solves none of the problems .

Do a search of his name. "cranston36" You be amazed the amount of places he visits.
@cranston36 cv,
For those that say it would be impossible to deport 12 million illegals, Then how did Vicente Fox do it?
@cranston36 cv,
Its not impossible its just not a very smart thing to do
@cranston36 cv,
I think it would be the cheapest thing to do.

You think rounding up 12 million people is remotely cheap?
@cranston36 cv,
Sure do! In respect to some of the amnesty bills that politicians are trying to pass, it's damn cheap. I've read through a little of it and it don't look good. According to there structure we legal americans will end up paying them to come? I'd rather our government use that money to get rid of them!
@cranston36 cv,
I agree , the amount of drain on our welfare and healthcare sysyems is massive . If we could deport them and get Americans to work , we would be better off .

We are, no matter what we get to pay for it.
@cranston36 cv,
let's keep in mind that not all of those illegal immigrants are from mexico. it would require much more work than just loading up buses.
@cranston36 cv,
From Mexico, through Mexico. What does it matter. The vast majority comes from the south. Got to seal it up before we go any further.
@cranston36 cv,
So we should send a bunch of illegal immigrants from the Middle East or from Asia to Mexico?
@cranston36 cv,
No , who said that? We should send them home and send them COD !

Ask them where they would like to exit? Land or Sea? I'm sure most would prefer to exit dry. Excort them out the way they came in.

Um where did you get that from? I can tell you right now that dual citizenship IS legal. I have citizenship for both the US and Mexico.
More "facts" right?...
@cranston36 cv,
I will admit that I was wrong on that point . Not sure where the thought came from and I have now looked into it . You are correct , dual citizenship IS legal in the US .
BUT , I will stand by my statement that making them citizens will not solve the problems .
