"I'm so happy," said Leslie Hudak yesterday, minutes after hearing that David Hudak was acquitted by an Albuquerque jury of nine charges linked to his counter-terrorism school. "This is exactly what we kept hoping. It's been a long haul."

The couple's two young sons, aged four and two, were never told their father was in prison in New Mexico.

but now they wont let him out. in fact, hes been sent to another jail in El Paso Texas, because while he was in jail, his work visa expired, so hes considered an illegal immagrant...

Homero Mendoza, a supervisor of detention and deportation for ICE, said ICE could not allow bail for Hudak because he could not be in the country or attend his hearing legally, as his visa had expired.

The judge pointed out the visa expired while he was in custody before a jury acquitted him of all pending criminal charges, which related to Hudak's counter-terrorist training program in Roswell, N.M.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Wormuth told jurors in his closing arguments that testimony from Hudak's co-workers proved he went ahead with military tactical training for United Arab Emirate soldiers in the summer of 2002 even though he knew he lacked proper U.S. State Department licensing.

Faced with losing a $12.5-million contract if the training didn't move forward, "the defendant rolled the dice and lost," Wormuth told the jury. "The government and law enforcement did not turn a blind eye or set him up."

Sounds like he got what he deserved. Gee, sometimes the system actually works! Shocked
