Other measures have been taken to help fulfill President Bush's late immigration reform objectives, and they are listed further down in the column.

I think the fence , road barriers , stepped-up border patrol numbers , etc. are positive , but it remains to be seen if any of this will come to pass . These are only proposals and must be reconciled with the bill(s) yet to be passed by the House . They all need to be hashed out into one measure both parts of Congress can agree on .
I personally don't care about the state of our relationship with Mexico , they have not proven to be a real ally , nor a real friend of the U S .
