Why wait, how come they didn't do it for 1999 or 1998 and so on and so forth. The number is only relevent to them. It is a milestone in there minds and only there mind. They use the rest that died as the filler. The only significance to me is it ended in a round number.

The only logical explanation I can come up with for that Drnaline is they wanted to wait for a solid # like 1000,2000,3000,4000 ect ect ect as well .But I definitely agree with you there it shouldnt just be a number.

Yes that is the only logical explanation but in doing so they are putting one life ahead of another. Or makeing one worth more, as a symbol which IMO is wrong.
