As was to be expected from the track-records of interviewer and interviewee, pre-arranged questions, sycophancy at it's most sickening and Bush suffering an interview as tough as being savaged by a dead pretzel, were the order of the day!
I was a little disappointed that Bush was not shown dancing down the steps of the White House, waving a little American flag?
Instead, it took place with Bush seated in front of a big American flag (naturally) and even wearing a little one on his lapel. Clearly a real patriot. Is it true that his bed linen, beer bottles and toilet paper are similarly embossed?
Of course, the interview was packed with his usual lies and exaggerations, as always mentioning 9/11, including the gems that his tame yes-men .... er .... oops, Inspectors had found evidence of future plans for Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq and that his Administration had expected all the current U.S. deaths and injuries in Iraq and are a price worth paying (by others).
Further that America would remain there, suffering unlimited numbers of daily casualties, for many years if necessary.
Frost let him get away with so much nonsense that it was not an interview, but much more of a political speech designed for the dimmest of voters.
Is it not time that Frost was retired to pasture in the home for old political interviewers?
Bush is simply not capable of giving an unrehearsed interview. He's too much of a dimwit.
