I am so happy! I just sold my first original piece of work!!

I have taken comissions and created some cartoons for a columnist in a local papers, but this is the first time someone has contacted me out of the blue and wanted to purchase one of my original pieces that I just did for myself because I wanted to.

I'm on cloud nine.

Here is the image.

I made this by painting a large piece of bristol paper in a blue wash and then tore it into small pieces. I arranged them to create this collage of two wolves.

Funny you should say that. I have been seriously considering making a few more collage type works. If I make a cat one I will post it.

It sure does! Now I just need to find a patron that will set me up and all will be good. Where is a wealthy Medicci when you need one.

@Aldistar,
An excellent piece of work, Aldistar. Frankly, I would not have sold it, at least not for quite a while.

@JLNobody,
Well, you gotta sell some stuff to get famous. The guy down the street from Antonio Stradivari made a much better fiddle, but couldn't stand to part with any. I'd mention his name, but nobody's heard of him.

I'd be interested to know why you say that, JL. Not that I'm disagreeing with you at all, just interested to know the reasons why you'd advise that way. Do you think artists should hold onto their creations for a time? Even if there's a market for particular works?
(I've read Aldistar's response to you.)
