@cicerone imposter,
Same here, cicerone, except that we saw only half of the eclipse - the marine layer rolled in and it was too overcast to see anything. Nonetheless, it was
spectacular watching it....

7:55 pm here in San Diego

@CalamityJane,
15:37 in Poole/Dorset. Left rainy and rather cold France and arrived here after a very pleasant ferry voyage in beautiful sunshine

@OmSigDAVID,
Hardy's Wessex. Real place names are sometimes different.

@izzythepush,
After a wonderful morning tour along the Jurassic coast, a rather good drive on the A30, we arrived at 15:00 in our b&b, a working Cornish farm with dozens of cows/calves and sheep.
At 17:25 ready to explore the surrounding area ...

@OmSigDAVID,
Just on the off-chance that you're serious, in some sense, David, the name of "Wessex" is a shortenng of the older name "West Saxony." In the Fifth Century c.e. this section of the land of the Britons was conquered and settled by people who hailed mainly from Saxony in what today is Germany.

Similarly, "Essesx" is the short form of East Saxony, "Sussex" Southern...etc...etc...

@izzythepush,
There were quite a lot of older people than we are - easily to be found on deckchairs

Ooops, you perhaps were asking something different: no, we didn't look for those.

@Walter Hinteler,
I lived near Walton on the Naze for about a year, they have a similar rockface. A lot of prehistoric human bones used to turn up, and the police had to be informed each time.

@Lustig Andrei,
Yes, and the Angles lived in East Anglia, which was divided between Norfolk and Suffolk, the "Nordfolc" and "Suthfolc" of the Angles--the northern people and the southern people.

11: 02 am, Saturday 26th May, Melbourne ....

Has the weather bureau got it wrong?
We were promised (threatened with? Wink ) this:
http://www.abc.net.au/weather/icons/77x70/showers.png

.... a whole weekend of it. And cold, cold, cold, too ...

BUT I've just been outside with my cup of tea & the sky is blue, just a few clouds floating about .... Surprised Smile
Fingers crossed things will stay this way.

I'm hoping this means I can get get stuck into some much-needed weeding (which will be a lot easier with the soil being so wet at the moment) plus some more pruning. I'm about to go out & collect my pruning sheers, which I left for sharpening a couple of days ago ... perfect timing!

2.30pm Adelaide time and they got it wrong here sofar! Intermittent sunshine but no rain. Wouldn't want any rain for the big football clash between the Adelaide Crows and your Melbourne Magpies msolga. 50.ooo spectators were ready to give Eddy Everywhere a rousing welcome, but he decided to stay in Melbourne, didn't want to face the Adelaide ferals.
