@msolga,
You know Ms. Olga, if someone held a gun to my head and said, 'choose your favorite rolling stone, I'd have to toss a coin to choose between Mick, Keith and Charlie. None of them could do it without any of the others, could they?

I did have a good night - but I'm getting cold now and I don't want to turn the furnace back on so I'm off to bed. Have a good day (innit - where you're at?)

@aidan,
Ah, but Charlie is the ultimate in cool detachment, aidan!
Just that slightest of smiles as he does about his drumming business ... Smile

12:50 pm, Sunday ...

Just received a call from a friend who is making her Christmas puddings ...
My presence is required to contribute a "stir" to the mixture.
"Why?", I asked.
A tradition I've never-ever heard of before .... to do with the spirit of Christmas, I'm told.
Her daughter is stirring at the moment.
And I'm next!
Better get dressed & go, then! Smile

Monday 19th December. 5.45pm. Sydney, Oz.

Just about to head home from work.

Looked up some gluten-free shortbread recipes - needed for a Christmas gift.

Check I have all the makings and go home.

Its 2:08 PM Tuesday Eastern Standard Time.
I 've called 1 If By Land 2 If By Sea at 17 Barrow Street,
for the Mensa Dinner tomorrow evening.

Its signature dish is Beef Wellington, so I prevailed upon the Pastry Chef
to add Baked Alaska to the menu for dessert, bearing in mind
their structural similarities.

Chef Kevin has special ordered the ingredients for Baked Alaska for us.

@margo,
1:40 pm, Tuesday 20th December, Melbourne, Oz ....

I've grown weary of contemplating "the dear leader's" death for today, so will head outside to the garden soon. It's a gorgeous, not-too-hot, day out there! Smile

Today was meant to be one of my 3 (per week) volunteer "job" days at a not for profit organisation & do my bit in the production of this:

http://www.brotherhoodbooks.org.au/

But I somehow slept in way after my alarm went off this morning. Now how did I do that? Confused Confused Confused

Must've rolled over, turned it off, then rolled back over & gone right back to sleep again, I guess?

OK, Much earlier to bed tonight.

So I'll do today tomorrow, instead, then.

@msolga,
Monday, Dec. 19, 4:44 p.m. -- pouring rain on the Sandwich Islands. Last night's downpour has led to near-flood coditions in some areas of Hawaii. It was partly sunny early this morning, so I took a leisurely walk through one of the city parks here in Hilo. Puddles too wide to leap over or circumnavigate. One was so extensive there were ducks swimming in it, too lazy to waddle over to the creek just a few yards away.

Happy ducks. That's what I like to see! Smile

Welcome, Andrew!
Hope you didn't get too wet on your walk!

No, no. I was back indoors before the rain started up again. Just a drizzle right this minute.

It’s 5:58 AM in St. Pete, just got home from the gym. Not as cold as yesterday morning. After work today I will have to stop by the mall one more time, sigh.

11:36 AM EST. After two intense weeks of end-of-the-semester duties, I have a few papers to correct and final grades to post. Then off to work at the liquor store which is in the middle of the Christmas/New Year's rush. Looking forward to returning to my own writing and to setting my house in order . . . working too many hours has taken its toll.

10:05 a.m. in the Sandwich Islands. I'm having my second cup of coffee at the local McDonald's McCafe and trying to catch up on some e-mail and other cyber-related matters.
