They are free to throw away money they earned any way they wish. But $141 million? LOL $14 million would have been too much!

Duh, I've been thinking that we're on standard time now, since all my life we've changed clocks at the end of october. But... I didn't remember changing my clocks. Looked it up. So, we change on Sunday night, Nov. 7th.

Old dog learns new trick, yet again..

6.14pm, Sydney, 7 November.

It actually stopped raining, so I got to it.
2 loads of washing (linens) then attacked the carpet - first with vacuum cleaner, then spray on shampoo. Leave majority of carpet apparently covered in snow. Showered, dressed, out to pick up my mate, and then to Flemington for yum cha with some friends. Ate just about everything in sight - and waddled back to car. Dropped mate back home, then to nursery to pick up some more plants to fill in front garden. Came back, turned on radio for cricket, planted the new kangaroo paws, and a grevillea, relocated some boring azaleas and some daisy thing a neighbour gave me, then inside to watch cricket, Aus vs Sri Lanka, with sound off, radio commentary on, and A2K'ing. Vacuumed the snow off the carpet during the cricket tea break.

Turned out to be a great day. And Aus is starting to show some form finally in the cricket. And the Wallabies won overnight against Wales.

<sticks foot out door, must be about....hmmmm.... 8 -10 degC out there>

Kbro has just left, after popping over for a cuppa and a chat this morning. Was lovely to see him. He'll be leaving to go back to Essex early afternoon and give Charlie a hug from me.

Grey and mizzly outside - quiet, very very quiet - not even a hint of a breeze out there. Still - that's what it is ... very still!

Survived the switch from Daylight Savings to Standard time. Still in my jammies and sweater and just finished my coffee. Going through tons of paper in the house . . . I can not afford trash collection at this time and have resigned myself to dumping the paper rather than recycling as no option is available to me.

Will do laundry, cut the last of the chicken off its bones and make soup and chicken salad for sandwiches. Will also see if I have a stray paper or two to correct before next week's onslaught.

The evening will be capped with a concert by Leo Kottke. I have been his fan for more than 40 years, so it will be nice to finally see him live.

@plainoldme,
It's now 10:13 AM in Silicon Valley, and we had some rain this morning. Our son is flying in from Austin, so I'll be going to Mineta International Airport to pick him up at about 11:30 this morning. He's staying with us until Thursday. I'm happy.

5:15 pm, Sunday 6th March, 2011, Melbourne:

Pooped, filthy & satisfied ... Smile
Have spent the best part of the day working on my timber decking, to prepare it for oiling in a day or so.
This involved moving heaps of stuff ( pot plants, furniture, etc, etc) off it, a big sweep (archooo!) & a really good scrub with that stuff you use to clean it with before oiling.
In 10 minutes time I'll hose it off & have a good scrub-up in the shower.
Really please to have stopped procrastinating about this, as before too long the weather would be too unpredictable to be certain of completing the job properly ... which would have probably meant having to leave it till next summer.
Beautiful sunny afternoon today.

Anyone up to anything a bit more exciting than this?

@Dutchy,
Oh that sounds a perfect way to spend Sunday, Dutchy.
I haven't been to the Barossa for years!
And 33 C degrees! Surprised
Nowhere near that here.
I would have expired on the decking if it had.
Have a glass of good chilled white for me tonight, OK? Smile

@msolga,
Hi Olga. It's not a bad day here. Reasonably warm, compared to the rest of Canada.

Relaxing on the computer today.
