@msolga,
8.50am Saturday morning Beyond the Black Stump

Hi Dadpad glad you're a man of leisure. This poor peasant just came off the roof after cleaning my gutters during heavy rain, I'm soaked to the skin! Voting is next on the list, Julia by a whisker Smile

@Dutchy,
20:08 EST Friday.

Just came back from the movie theater. Went to see the German film, Soul Kitchen by the Turkish director Fatih Akin.

@dadpad,
Ah, Kings Cross Station; I stayed at a Holiday Inn not too far from there many years ago; it was 1998.

@cicerone imposter,
8 PM, somewhere around Broadway and 45th. Have eaten fairly well but i dont trust most of the restaurants , they are busy and even the good ones are a little seedy.

Went to the park and the Museum of NAt Hist'ry. Went to the Art store and the Fountain Pen Hospital to have a Conklin Fountain Pen looked at.

Hot but nice. I leave on the ACela to Philly, then Ill drive home first thing tomorrow. Acela is a nice train , it takes a little over an hour to go from Philly to NYC. It takes me an hour just to get through Philly and onto 95 at the Delaware crossing.

Gnight all. Im beat .

@djjd62,
21:44 Friday August 20th
Toronto

just back from a lovely little adventure

went to meet brendalee while she was getting her hair cut/coloured. hung out with her and Maddy for a while. Then brendalee and I went to Basil Thai for a great little meal. Had a lot of fun talking with the waitress about her favourites on the menu. Resto and waitress - gems.

As I was walking brendalee to the subway (carrying the 'doggie bag' of walnut chicken and pad thai), I saw a trio of familiar shapes ahead of us standing/sitting at the light.

Set and the dogs! out for their evening sashay.

We hugged and kissed brendalee good night, and then wandered to a neighbourhood park together, where we met a funny little pug who'd recently had an eye surgically removed. Lovey lovey little dog (and Miss Cleo did NOT make evil weasel face at her).

Found a bench - Set and the dogs finished off the doggie bag contents. Bailey got pad thai in his fur. Getting the sauce fully removed is going to be a project.

Set, the dogs and I sashayed home.

It really was a lovely set of hours.

It's now 11 minutes to seven PM, and I'm waiting for sunset. I worked on our toilet today, because it makes such a huge ruckus when we're sleeping. After working on it for about four hours - including the time I went to the hardware store for parts, I ended up calling the plumber, who'll come by on Monday.

Life sure is frustrating!

3.15pm, Saturday 21 August. Sydney

Just back from voting. Bit difficult to know who to put last - the Socialist Equationist (whatever the hell that is?) (or maybe that was Equalist? either way!) or the member of the Christian Democrat (Fred Nile) Party - they should all be put down immediately.

Sunny but cold and very windy here - went out rugged up like an eskimo!

Now back eating my slow cooker chicken soup - and feeling much better, thank you.

@msolga,
10.15pm Tuesday 31st August Beyond the Black Stump, South Australia.

May well be Spring in one hour and 45 minutes msolga, but it still feels winter as it is raining cats and dogs here presently with lots more to come. Sad You know our reservoirs are full (first time in many years) yet the Premier announced our severe water restrictions will be lifted on the 1st of December. Everybody is asking why not know? That's smart politicians for you. Razz

11:46 am, Wednesday 8th September, Melbourne:

It's a gorgeous sunny day outside. Spring! Wonderful! Very Happy
I'm about to rush out & meet a friend for lunch. I'm running late, of course .. Gotta get moving.
From my backyard I can see this huge crane demolishing the (decrepit) house directly behind me. A new building will replace it. (I'd better check with the Council that there've been no further changes to the original plan I saw, months ago..) That crane is certainly making a lot of noise! There's a lot of clear, blue sky where the house used to be. I wish my view could stay like this!
