I'm about to make a large batch of shrimp and cabbage and water chestnut and pickled ginger and onion... pot stickers. Wish me luck.

Up early (for a Saturday morning). Today is federal election day in Oz, so soon I'll get dressed & walk down the street to cast my vote. Later I'll be getting my hair cut. Perhaps a movie after that, I'm not sure ...

Oooh, I hate being woken up by birds early in the morning.

We have a lake in a park here, a couple of blocks away, and the Canada geese make a heck of a racket sometimes, flying overhead to get there.

Or, sometimes it's crows or blue jays. Mad

(I just wish they wouldn't poo all over my car, which is parked under the biggest street tree in the street! Sometimes my car looks like an intricately decorated cake, when I first lay eyes on it in the morning ... Smile

This reminds me of Venice. A few blocks away, in some construction maneuver over in Marina del Rey, all the trees where the night herons roosted were knocked out. Many of those fled to a tree on our street, an old Ficus indica. I loved those herons, but felt sorry for the woman who lived there... she had iced property.

Talking about time zones, I made a list of places by time zones, and the quirk I found were many. Some places have time zones that are 15-minute difference, and some 30-minute difference from the Prime Meridian. Time zones also zig-zag all over the place, and some countries no matter how big has only one time zone. It gets rather difficult to keep track. I also found that locations are not listed for some of the 24-hour time zones.

Lost yet? I was in Greenwich to step on two time zones at the same time. Neat.
