9:54 am. Sunday 1st August , Melbourne:

(I can't believe it's August already. Where has this year gone? Who stole it? Confused )
A very quiet & gentle Sunday morning here.
Chilly, with rain falling steadily outside.
I'm slowly, slowly, waking up after a very much appreciated sleep-in.
Contemplating the things I must do today ... unfortunately lots of must-dos which must be done. Rather boring but never mind.
Looking forward to Friday, when this 4 week replacement stint at work will be over. It's been a demanding time.

Is it Sunday yet, tsar? Smile
What are you doing at Delaware Bay, farmer? A holiday? Tell us us more.
I trust you enjoyed that bbq chicken on a biscuit, chai?

Off to pour my second cup of tea now ... that should do the trick!

I just made my first attempt at making homemade yogurt.

Goat milk yogurt to be specific.
It was really easy, no special equipment necessary.

It's got to ferment for 8-12 hours, then I'll put in the fridge.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

@chai2,
I can hardly wait to find out how it turns out. I have some brownies baking in the oven, then should be done in 37 minutes.

@dyslexia,
Now it's Sunday, 12:28 EST. I probably should get some breakfast.

BTW: how many hours is the flight from LaGuardia to your nearest airport Dys? How far away from the airport do you live?

I hear fresh baked brownies are the one true breakfast of champions!
Should I bring the vanilla ice cream or do you have some so we can make brownies ala mode? I will bring the caramel and chocolate sauces along with me if I pack them into my stored luggage.

Perhaps you should make another batch of brownies and time it so they come out of the oven by the time I get there, non?

That damn goat milk didn't turn into yogurt at all.

I think the camel I tied the bag to stood around under a tree all day, and didn't slosh it around enough.

10:40 am, Saturday 7th August, Melbourne:

My 4 week replacement stint finished yesterday. Wonderful, wonderful! Very Happy
I am so looking forward to being "properly" casual again. I was starting to feel like I was back in the system again towards the end! Not a great feeling.
The teacher I was replacing rang me a couple of days ago, full of apprehension about returning to work after her break. I can sympathize.

Today: the sun is shining & I really want to start walking again. Bring on that vitamin D! ... And also catch up on a few things that I haven't been able to indulge in for the past 4 weeks. I'm feeling pretty good after a good, long sleep.

@msolga,
Its 7AM on SAT .

I just returned from Long Island this AM. I flew from ISlip to Philly on a sunrise flight . It was fanatastic in the clear morning light coming over New York City. Its a beautiful city from so high up on a sunny morning. Philly, not so much.

Weather apparently has turned crisp and fall -like (but I hear we will be back in the heat by next week). SO, Im gonna catch some sleep and then go back down to Lewes Delaware where I can write in peace.

Today's our anniversary. We are going to a restaurant noted for its seafood entrees and then e shall try to stay awake , nithing special planned.

@msolga,
23:16 EST: Just finished a couple of slices of leftover mushroom and onion topped pizza. Listening to Bob Edwards interview some musician named Jon Cleary.

Spend 3 and a half delightful hours at the Brooklyn Museum of Art tonight. Quite enjoyable. I love to observe and meditate on all forms of art.

It's 11:22 pm in Cambridge, MA. I hiked this morning and have the blood-shot eyes to prove it. I will be heading to bed with Migraine, by Oliver Sacks, momentarily. I am NOT setting the alarm.
